Well I decided to re-do my wick and wire last night after 2 days of using it. I had 30g kanthal @ 1.3ohm and a 400 ss mesh rolled tight with no hole in the center. There was literally no flavor for some reason, I'm blaming it on my oxidation method (burn/soak in water x3, then juice/burn x3...I used 100% pg) but I could be wrong.

Anyways, I had vaped near 3 tanks ot of it before being fed up. So I decided to up the ohms using 32g kanthal and use 500 ss mesh. For oxidizing this one I used the "jack frost" method I think? Quick burn before rolling, roll with a paper clip for a small hole, juice burn x3 then let her eat.

I wrapped 4 times to get 1.4ohm, so that didn't change really...but the mesh is COMPLETELY different. 100x better. I tasted this flavor (cantemelon from Rawr) from the first vape. Now at 1 1/2 tanks in its getting BETTER!

Its rediculous how something done a little different can completely ruin or awaken these RBAs. Truly fascinating devices...gonna try to wrap a 2.0 ohm coil when I get home from work, but other than having a little trouble wicking (don't know why  ) my 2nd try building it was so much better.

Other noobs to this, just keep trying! Don't get frustrated, try different methods, do research...its TOTALLY WORTH IT!

you may be interested in a look into the unoxidized method for the wicks, a little more work in the setup but the flavor rocks. i think all this quenching and juice makes the wick taste nasty and slows down the wicking.

A seasoned wick tastes and wicks better, not worse.

The main problem with overoxidizing is much more chance of hotspots.

Did you get a 2ohm coil made yet? How will you do this?

I posted on your thread.

I wrapped 5 loops of 32awg kanthal a1. around a drill bit then evenly spaced them, came out PERFECT @ 2.1-2.2ohms. Im using it at 4.5-5 volts depending on the juice I have in it.

Check out my previous posts for pics and a performance video I did.
