If you buy this mod today to sell as an art work fifty years from now (in 2063) it must sell for at least $22,890 for you to break even on the investment. A sales price of $6,000 in 2063 would be a huge loss.

That's in the likely case that inflation for the next fifty years is at least equal to inflation for the last fifty years.

You would have to pry it from my cold dead fingers........ the 3k I mean.

I could never appreciate art and probably never will. A picture of Benjamin Franklin or William McKinley on a piece of paper, now that's art to me. Lol.

They do say that if something is functional then it isn't art. Although this mech is "artistic".

I know that a lot of people are outraged by the price of these things:

- 3000$ for a brass tube!!! Are you kidding?!?!?

But I think this has to be viewed as art, not has a brass battery tube. There is as much time invested it these pieces by the Mr. Otto Carter than on oil painting that goes for the same price. Some people would say "3000$ for a piece of painted fabric, are you kidding?!?!" but it is what it is.

If you think that the artist is extremely talented (which in this case, I think he is) and enjoy his work, 3000$ is not to much to ask, artists has to make a living. Can I afford this? No, but if I could, I might buy one of his piece.

If you don't like it, just don't buy it :)

Just a thought.

For that 3K, you could get 60 vv itaste 3.0 starter kits, and give them away to smokers that you meet that need or want to quit.

You would be giving them a quality starter kit and would be directly responsible for saving 60 lives.

And if you wanted something to admire, ask the benefactors of your kindness to send you a good picture of themselves, frame them and put them on your wall.

Then when you want to look at something you can look at your "wall of life".

That is litterally LIVING art. Kinda makes a brass bauble lose it's luster.

Someone mentioned Bill Gates earlier in this post. Even Bill realizes that "stuff" is nice, but real fulfillment comes from changing lives...Can't think of a better way to do it than helping get someone to quit the stinky sticks....
