........My main draw to the 5v device is the fact that I can get a warmer vape without sacrificing battery life............

I think this comment sums it up quite well the differences between the two. I have vaped on 15 different PV's from 3.4 volts to 6.0 volts. There is a reason that many "vets" find that 4.5 volts - 5.0 volts is the vaping "sweet spot". A good 5 volt model like the GLV2 simply provides warmer, fuller vapor without stressing the battery by using LR attys/cartos.

The fact is that LR attys just don't hold up as well as standard resistence ones and with a 5 volt PV you don't need them. Plus their is less consistency trying to duplicate HV vaping by messing with different resistence attys in comparison to simply vaping on a good 5 volt PV.

There is one poster on here who always trys to trash the GLV2 because he likes cold vapor and doesn't think anyone needs to vape over 3.7 volts. And all PV models will vary depending on the resistence of the atty. But there is a reason that the GLV2 has a legion of fans and that thousands of vapers prefer vaping between 4.5 volts and 5.0 volts. It's not because the vapor is hotter, but simply put because it is warmer, and for thousands of us, better simulates what we use to do, more simply with less hassle.

Good Luck with your decision.

It really is more complicated than that... I now vape Hawaii Sunrise on 3Ω@4.8V (7.7W)and it hits perfectly... Earlier I was using my KGO for Snickerdoodle on 3Ω@~3.7 (4.5W) and it felt just as great (cooler vape, the warm cinnamon was not too intense, you know). I find Boba's comes into its own for my morning "smoke" around 3Ω@5.5V (10W), yet others may have completely different preferences.

Initially, the PAD-based calculation may be right, within some margins, for nicotine content. Later, I think the nicotine "fix" is much easier to get from pretty much anything.

But I still crave a good throat hit from time to time. Here is where voltage/power may be an issue in the beginning as well -- the 'tougher' the cigarette you are coming from the more likely you're gonna need that extra power. I have my doubts that a smoker of Gitanes sans filtre if you know them (I don't know a good American reference) would be satisfied by 3.7V vaping...

You are absolutely right in that it is more complicated than that.
And that is because of what you said about completely different preferences.

This poll was put together to show how different we are...
Not only with respect to what we got from smoking, but we we needed from vaping...

NOTE: This poll is intended for those that didn't drop cigarettes immediately.

If this poll doesn't show how all of our needs differ, I don't know what will.
