Yeah, it was the silver colored mk2. I knew about the mk1, but like the button on the mk2 and figured that it would be up to the standards of the origonal. I was actually looking at a tornado as well just before my sd busted, but all things considered, decided to go eGo instead. That and TW doesn't offer a kit with the mega batteries, and I needs my longevity. I typically get about 8 hours of use from my sd before changes. My first e-cig (lucky slick retro) was a mini style and I was changing batteries before the other was fully charged. Hence the switch to the sd (and grimm green's review vid).
Madvapes hooked me up nicely. I made two orders the week of Christmas and recieved both before the holiday. I'm liking the ego, seems to burn through juice faster and the taste is a little off, but I prolly just need to break in the attys for a while. The roughstack might as well be advertised as the screwdriver's ugly cousin. It preforms great and reliablity is not an issue thus far. I did notice button placement being a little odd, but I'm just a little more careful of how I carry it (button could go off in my pocket).
I did notice that none of my old reliable 510 attys fit into any of my new mods however. They screw in, but will not fire in either the stack or ego, nor the 5v passthrough that I impulse ordered when I saw them in stock.
I did learn to read discriptions VERY carefully as I ordered some 18350 batteries, only to learn that they are longer than a standard 18350 (thus making them closer to an 18370 or perhaps 390 because of the protection). Not a big deal as they fit the roughstack just fine, but I need to rethink modding my sd now.
Speaking of which, I think I found a way to keep my sd. A little JB weld should hold the atty connection down to the body, and I can clean that up to look fairly stock. But the big thing I was thinking was to file all the threads smooth in the body connection, then add some heat shrink or an "O" ring where the threads used to be. Kinda creating an easy way to change batteries, and actually making it safer in case of a battery pressure malfunction.
Whatcha think? And if anyone has tried something similar, please feel free to offer some advice. All I have is basic hand files and tools - not even a drill at this point, so it may not be pretty. Oh, and sorry for the length, I'm not getting on ECF too often right now, so when I do...I take advantage.
