To make matters worse there is also a DSE 905 that is a Screwdriver clone. In the video review by Grimm Greene it broke in two during the review.

Neither of these comes close in quality to the MKI from Trog.

Yeah, I saw that review and managed to run into a real-life V1 905. Someone was giving it away, after it randomly fired and almost lit his bed on fire...

Read a lot of bad things about the DSE905 and that cleaning cycle. Shame that they made it look like a Screwdriver.

I can honestly say I have never run into another vapor outside of the vapor shop

I've been to some vape meets. You should look up if there's a local social group and see if they do meets. :)

It's too bad they put "Huh?" for a location... it makes it hard to build localized friendships when a person is not forthcoming with that information.

We have a Vape Meet every other Month in Rochester NY, they are a BLAST!

MN, Don't you guys have a vaping lounge open now? I thought I read something about that.

Not yet, but we're gettin' there. And of course, I know lots of vapers here as well. Kinda cool to be able to just vape away at work, ha ha. Bumming juice and chargers and batteries to each other - it's another world.

My office is a designated vape zone at work. We have 4 active vapers that vape in their offices.

The SD's MKI and MKII are both aluminum bodies if I recall correctly. They're made out of Romisen LED flashlights.

DealExtreme: $15.99 Romisen RC-A8 Cree Q3-WC 200-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*CR123A)

The SD MKIIs I have are aluminum, one chrome plated and the other black powder coated. One fault in the design is that the atty connector is press fit into the upper end of the body. If you pull on the atty hard enough while its attached to the body, you can dismount it. Seen a few pics of it somewhere. In the manual it says to hold the atty while removing the carts to keep from breaking the unit. Another issue is that the body threads are rather fine for me. I don't mind fine threads much, but they can be easy to cross thread. Aluminum wears quicker than steel. Over time the threads will wear.

I got mine for cheap during the yoyo promo so I don't really worry much about them. If it busts, it busts. I got them as a semi-disposable mod for when I'm out. I like my Super T stuff too much to risk it during a rough day at work.

I had a friend with a DSE905 v3. I played with it a few times and was generally unimpressed. Not saying it was bad, but the SD MKII is way more solidly built than that was.

Yeah, it was the silver colored mk2. I knew about the mk1, but like the button on the mk2 and figured that it would be up to the standards of the origonal. I was actually looking at a tornado as well just before my sd busted, but all things considered, decided to go eGo instead. That and TW doesn't offer a kit with the mega batteries, and I needs my longevity. I typically get about 8 hours of use from my sd before changes. My first e-cig (lucky slick retro) was a mini style and I was changing batteries before the other was fully charged. Hence the switch to the sd (and grimm green's review vid).

Madvapes hooked me up nicely. I made two orders the week of Christmas and recieved both before the holiday. I'm liking the ego, seems to burn through juice faster and the taste is a little off, but I prolly just need to break in the attys for a while. The roughstack might as well be advertised as the screwdriver's ugly cousin. It preforms great and reliablity is not an issue thus far. I did notice button placement being a little odd, but I'm just a little more careful of how I carry it (button could go off in my pocket).

I did notice that none of my old reliable 510 attys fit into any of my new mods however. They screw in, but will not fire in either the stack or ego, nor the 5v passthrough that I impulse ordered when I saw them in stock.

I did learn to read discriptions VERY carefully as I ordered some 18350 batteries, only to learn that they are longer than a standard 18350 (thus making them closer to an 18370 or perhaps 390 because of the protection). Not a big deal as they fit the roughstack just fine, but I need to rethink modding my sd now.

Speaking of which, I think I found a way to keep my sd. A little JB weld should hold the atty connection down to the body, and I can clean that up to look fairly stock. But the big thing I was thinking was to file all the threads smooth in the body connection, then add some heat shrink or an "O" ring where the threads used to be. Kinda creating an easy way to change batteries, and actually making it safer in case of a battery pressure malfunction.

Whatcha think? And if anyone has tried something similar, please feel free to offer some advice. All I have is basic hand files and tools - not even a drill at this point, so it may not be pretty. Oh, and sorry for the length, I'm not getting on ECF too often right now, so when I do...I take advantage.
