Ahoy Mateys,

I ordered the "Blu starter kit" but after a little research, I'm cancelling the order. I'm interested in the "510" or the "Ego".

I need a good battery life and a portable charging pack. I like a lot of vapor and prefer an auto battery but I suppose I could adjust to a manual.

I spent $104.00 on "Blu" with extra batteries, atomizers, and carts.

Question 1: Should I get the "Ego" or "510"?

Question 2: What about carts? Do they have prefilled carts or do I need to get liquids?

Question 3: I was attracted to the "Blu starter kit" because it came with everything I need to get started. What exactly do I need to buy to use the "510" or "Ego" right out of the box? (I'm specifically wondering about the carts and refills, I don't understand the process or difficulty)

Which supplier would you recommend? Fastest shipping time, cost, etc...?

Thanks everyone, I hope to become a contributing member of this hobby and community.

Well I use awesomevapor.com they have 510 for sale for $46 I like carts and then I just drip juice when the cart starts drying out they also have a good sale on $8 for 16ml ejuice and they also give you a free 3ml sample of other flavors your choice and the kits come with 2 batterys and some tobacco carts already to get you started but You can at least get 1 bottle of juice and I would get at least 1 extra atty. There shipping is really fast there in georgia and im in ohio always get my stuff in 3 shipping days.

Between the ego and a 510, get the ego...same attys and stuff, but the battery life is much better with the ego vs 510. Think of the ego as a 510 on steroids. Same stuff, longer battery.
You wont need a PCC if you go with the ego as the batt life will be anywhere from 6-12 hours depending on your vaping habits. some claim even longer battery life than that.

As far as carts, i suggest, and probably most here will too, get liquid and refill, refill, refill. The prefilled carts are ok at best. There are tons of cart mods to give you better performance and there is always the cartomizer route as well. Either way, find a liquid you like and refill.

As far as where to buy, theres gonna be lots of people giving answers, my suggestion is cignot. The customer service is awesome, shipping is lightning fast. Is there cheaper places? yes. better customer service? i doubt it.

Which ever you decide, welcome to the forum, good decision to cancel the Blu order, and good luck.

Question 1: eGo - and please get a drip tip ;-)
Batteries last me 2-3 hours... but I vape a lot... The thing is glued to my lip...
as Mr. Mutt said, you can get 6-12 hours if you are a moderate vaper.

Question 2: get a drip tip - in my opinion, carts are messy...

Question 3: 2 batteries, a charger... 2 atomizers... and yummy JUICE... I'd also suggest getting a 3.00 adapter and getting a 901 or 801 atty as well. Different atties change your vaping experience... I am a fan of 901's BE112's and 510's.

Which supplier would you recommend? Fastest shipping time, cost, etc...?

Really, there are several good places to buy these kits.
Just buy it from a supporting member.
I like cignot for a few reasons...
Fast... and very importantly, in the case you get a dud battery... which is always a possibility from anywhere, they will replace it no questions asked.
Someone has an eGo on sale now for 49.99 and another for 54.00 - check the suppliers forum... these sales might be gone now.

...and... order juice from 3-4 places that your new friends on ECF rave about...

Well I gotta agree with MUTT. Ego gives you the battery life PLUS a ton of options, carts (prefilled and empty to DIY, and/or cartomizers). Of course that's the way I roll (what did I just say?) so that's why I'm recommending it. Good luck!

BEST juice is subjective to taste. TV is ok juice. Nothing spectacular. There are lots of suppliers who still answer their phone, so TV is not the only one. As far as suggesting TV for an ego, BAD IDEA...they have ZERO warranty.

Back to the OP's question, most juice you buy from a vendor is premixed and ready to go, give it a shake and drip or fill. There are some DIY juices that you have to mix yourself, which is cheaper, but more time consuming, and IMO, not worth the hassle. The juice vendor you choose will more than likely take some time. What is awesome to one, is not so good to another. There are many vendors who just resale prepackaged china juice, there are vendors who mix fresh as you order. It will be what you like as to what vendor you choose. Joining the PIF subforum is a good way to try out lots of vendors juices without spending tons of money.

Thanks for all the responses, you folks are great!

Could someone please explain what I need as far as refills? Do I just get a bottle of liquid and pour it in when the cart drys out?

yes, you drip liquid into the cart when its empty to refill. If you search, there will be lots of cart mods you can do for better performance, but starting out, just get a couple carts that usually come with the kit, a bottle or 2 of liquid and refill once the cart is empty. Keep it simple to start, then search for and try the different mods out there. some work better than others, all have their downside. No one has perfected the cart or carto yet...if you do, you will more than likely become a multimillionaire.

Refilling is easy. When you pull the cartridge out of the end of the atomizer there is an open end that has a cottony looking fill material showing. You simply hold the cart with the filler up and drop liquid from the dropper bottle. Drop a drop, wait until it soaks in and drop another drop.

To completely fill the cart, I take the filler out with a pair of tweezers and drop several drops into the cart, insert the filler material, and top it off by dropping a few more drops into the filler. You want the filler to look like a "slushy" when you are through. You generally don't want shiny liquid sitting on the filler when you insert it. Too full and you will flood the atomizer.

If you do flood the atomizer, remove the cart and unscrew the atomizer. Hold the atomizer over a paper towel and blow through it until drops fall out on the towel. I prefer to blow into the threaded part and let the liquid drop out of the large open end. Clean the threads, screw the atomizer back onto the battery, and reinsert the cartridge and vape.

The process sounds complicated, but once you do it, it's a piece of cake.

Hey muttSRT,
Absolutely subjective to ALL we do in this life. :) And there are NO BAD ideas. Just more subjective thoughts from ALL whom behold them! :vapor:

Well i just think sending someone new to a site to buy their first ecig from a vendor that has zero warranty is not the best idea. Especially when the website says in its ad that the ego they sell is a knockoff and has no warranty. If you remember the whole TW fiasco with them selling 5 packs of batteries and a high percentage being DOA and TW not making it right because the customer supposedly saved some $$$ on the purchase, saving a couple of dollars up front is not always the way to go.

I understand that you are a TV fan, and I think thats great. Geoff has put out a good product (liquid) that seems to have a ton of fans. But if you remember your first ecig, if the OP ends up with a dud in the beginning, chances are pretty good, that they will just put the ecig down and go back to smoking. And that benefits no one, including the OP. For this reason, I suggest using a vendor that sells the real deal with a real warranty.

Hello muttSRT,
You are absolutely correct! But Geoff is NOT your typical knock-off, take your money, kick you in the arsche vendor. He makes EVERYTHING perfectly clear what you are buying and makes it perfectly clear to contact him directly IF there are ANY problems with ANY product he is selling.

My first experience was with Green Smoke---$223 of BAD experience! Numerous telephone calls--e-mails and over 30 days to get my money back(only $169 of it!) with their 300% mark up on product they don't manufacturer themselves and product that was 95% defective to begin with!

TW? You bet! I am going through a 901 and 510 atomizer issue with them since May 8th! When their atty's are lasting me on the average of 3 to 4 days! NOT good! Now they are contributing it to my vaping habits?? Of course I vape heavy! If heavy is once every minute with a 5 second draw during my normal work day of 10 hours???

The bottom line is that the vast majority buy from but a few distributors and price is always dependent on WARRANTY!

Soooooo!!! Who do we trust in this wild west business?

One does not really know UNTIL you spend your hard earned $$$ with them and after there is a issue that needs to be corrected, that separates the HONEST business from those that sell Snake Oil?
