No - it is compatible with most ego chargers...they ship with a 450ma charger but I have charged mine on my ePower 500ma and you can go lower, just takes longer to charge.

do i have to buy a new charger for the VV version or will my regular old ego charger work? and will i be able yo buy two of the batteries alone? i'm trying to decide weather i need to buy a new kit or just the batts.

I'm very curious as to how these actually work.. A freshly charged lithium ion battery is 4.2v.. but as it drains, the voltage gets lower and lower.. these would have to include some sort of boost circuitry (in that little housing? hmm) to output 4.2v with a battery voltage of let's say 3.7v.. I can see how it works with the passthrough because it has a fixed 5v input power supply, so it can resistor or buck the voltage

If it does use some sort of boost circuit, i'm not sure how it's able to handle a heavy load without dropping the voltage.. like a 1.5ohm dual coil.. because boost circuits output less current than input, and a 650mAh battery isn't able to handle too much output current before becoming severely distressed.

I'm just really curious as to what is actually going on inside of the thing.. there's a lot of single battery boosted variable mods, but they all use an high drain 18650 or high capacity lico 18650's because you simply cannot support the current boosting a smaller battery..maybe the thing has an IMR cell built in instead of LiCo? I have no idea.. if it does have a boost circuit in it, that's an incredibly small one haha... and battery life must suffer if it

I think I'm going to order one just to do some loaded testing.. I have a nice little adapter that hooks up my multimeter in-line and allows a carto/atty to be attached so I can get some good results, and see what's going on inside this thing.. If this thing honestly does hold 4.2v even when battery capacity is diminished I'm buying a boatload of them because that's a nice sweet spot for me with 2.0ohm cartos.. and it's so damn small!

I received mine yesterday and it works well. I have not tested it with a multimeter, but I can definitely tell the difference in the 3 voltage settings. Low is virtually identical to my Joye eGo batteries, medium vapes comparably to a Riva battery, and high definitely steps it up a bit more.

There is only one problem I have encountered with it so far and that is the center post is a little too recessed upon arrival. Until I worked it up some with a paper clip it would not work at all with any of my eGo specific tanks, cartos, or chargers. I now have it working with my T-tanks and Echo-e's, but cannot get it to work with my Mega dual coil cartos.

It works great with all of my regular 510 stuff.

man i love this thing! it feels so nice and silky and fits nice in the hand - and i love the solid metal button but it needs a little spring or something because it rattles...
on the led display i think it is mostly a novelty as on my unit the last 2 bars go on and off together (leaving 3) and then when the middle one goes out it quits (leaving the other 2 blinking) so after 3 charge cycles the only thing the led tells me is when its not full. now that i know it quits at 2 bars i will be better prepared when it cuts out but its still a guess. i got about half a day out of the charge puffing pretty steady.
after a few days with it I havent dont a bunch of tests yet but performance leads me to believe it dosent boost but i think ..... i think i will reserve judgment untill more tests have been done lol
overall a very nice battery and its giving my epower a run for its money until i get my other vv finished...

same experience that others have had....at 2 bars it starts flashing and it's dead.
I honestly thought mine was broken because when I screwed it into a charger, it would just flash-flash-flash and not charge.
Fixed that issue using a 510 extender on my charger.
Works flawlessly other than that and I can definitely tell the difference in voltages.
I like a mild vape as the day starts out then move to something 'hotter'
With the VV I can use any carto, tank or atty.
I love what it is doing for my juices now.
There really IS a sweet spot for your atty'/juice combinations and this battery helps you find it and lead you to vaping heaven
