There ain't no such thing. Everything has problems.

Negative. I have been using the Same REO for over 3 years and have had zero issues. It is still working as good as day one. They are reliable and pretty much bullet proof. If I were to have a problem, Rob stands behind his work and it would be fixed in a flash.

For $300, you could get a Reo, RM2 rba, batteries, charger, ohm meter and wire, and still have over $80 to put towards juice or something else.

So, is the only rda you can use in a reo the ones that are made specifically for it? Because if it is, I can't see justifying the purchase, for me personally of course (been thinking of making it my next purchase)

The more expensive isnt always the best.
And best vape is entirely too subjective.

............

Provari's are decent but I am not a fan honestly, but if you want one you can find it on here for a good price probably - just become verified.
Also, a really good tank for a provari is the Z-Atty-Pro (ZAP) tank.
Z-Atty-Pro - Rebuildable Tank System V2.1

For me, Mechanical mods give me the best vape.
But you should know what you are getting into before you do it.

In spite of my purchase walk-through for the OP above, the only mod that leaves home with me is a rugged tumbled raw aluminum REO Grand. The 18650 lasts through a 6 ml bottle of juice, which for me is 16 hours. That's in a tiny package smaller than a pack of cigarettes that rides out of sight in a back pocket, between a CR123 flashlight and a pocket knife. The REO Grand is so important to me, I have a backup. The Reomizer 2.0 RDAs work so easy and so well on them, I have a total of four--a primary and a backup for each Grand. I put the 0.8Ω micro coil in my daily driver's RM2 on August 1st and since then it just gets a little fresh cotton periodically. I also keep a disposable dripping atty in the truck for a quick change backup while driving. I love my little 20 mm diameter Super-T Simplicity 18500 with ByLeo.eu Sophia atomizers, but it's for home. There's nothing better than the REO Grand for on the go.

Any atty that has bottom-fed capability (drilled 510) should work on a REO. There's a thread about what works in the REO forum. For the fat ones, you'll want a Low Profile REO with the catch cup milled off. Since I use disposable attys sometimes, I prefer the catch cup. Cartomizers will work on a REO, but cartos suck compared to attys so few use them. It makes no sense to put a tanked RBA on a REO... the tank is redundant to the bottle and just something to break if dropped.

I love my MVP 2 and find that vaping via watts is more convenient for me. When Provari goes VW I will look at that.

All tanks have issues some times. Vaping is very much a DIY type of activity. That said I like glass carto tanks. I'd save the money by getting an MVP 2 and use that money on some premium carto tanks. You can even get some custom, blown glass tanks. They vape great!

$300 budget, I want the best possible vape I can get.

And above all, I want it to be reliable. No chance of any parts arriving DoA, any replacement coils having issues, nothing.

As far as dripping goes, it's very possible I'll end up getting a dripping setup at some point, but for now I'm currently a full time student and a 25~ hour/week employee, so I'm generally on the go.

Right now (tomorrow may be different), given your stated requirement and priority for reliability with as few issues as possible and with RDAs/RBAs being out of the question, an MVP2 with a Aspire Nautilus BDC is what you want. You can spend the additional money on a Provari, batteries, battery charger, etc if you want - I have nothing against that option, I own 2 Provaris myself - but you don't need to. The Aspire Nautilus is one of the - if not the - top of the line clearomizers right now (again, tomorrow may be different).

I have a few ProVaris, both standard and mini. You can't go wrong with them. I also have a Reo with a Reomizer 2 that I only got because it was the only thing out there that had the same passionate following as ProVari. I figured it would be for sale within a week or so. It's not for sale, nor will it ever be. They are both as close to perfect devices as I've seen. From a quality, customer service and warrantee stand point, they're both simply awesome and will provide years of reliable service. The Reomizer is perfect as a topper for the Reo.
With ProVari, you have more options for the topper. Not necessarily better options, but more options. Mine either have a Kayfun or an Ithaka on top. They all had IBTanked carto/tanks on them before I learned how to rebuild. I like gennies on mechs because I like lower ohms on those. I would probably avoid the Z atty pro, though. Thats a lot of money for a Genesis atty... I love Zen and his stuff, but the ZAP is pretty dated, not as versatile as some new stuff for far less money. You have a fun problem to solve....ENJOY!

I would say a good mech some some us18650vtc4 batteries and a good 100$ dripper... NOTHING will be DOA and you can vape they way you want to vape... But ofc theres no tank on it so you will have to drip...

Buy a kick and some 18500batts and you got VW as well in one device

Depends on the form factor you prefer.

I have an MPV, good mod, but it sits in my "hurricane" drawer. I personally don't like box form. So, if you do, the Reo is pretty much top of the line. The MPV is regulated. The Reo VV is regulated, but the others all have battery drop off. Some notice it, some don't.

Tube form, I highly recommend the ProVari (I have 3). The Mini is the most versatile, as you can buy extensions/Tatroe rings, to accommodate all 3 battery sizes, 18350, 18490/500 and 18650.

How long is this $300 supposed to last and what are you expecting to get?
If you need to buy a year's worth of liquid from a high end maker for that $300 you're not going to make it. You're talking about $700 @$20 for 30ml for about a year.
So while it's easy to see $300 and think $200 for a Protank starter kit will get you a good reliable system you won't have much liquid to use in it.

I'm just trying to keep you realistic and realize the expense doesn't stop. I don't recall what I spent my first year but it was way more than $300 building up a system of backups and stock pile of liquid. I built up with one month's worth of cigarette money at a time.

I've never had a Provari but I trust that kit would have you with a reliable mod and tank. It wouldn't have you with a backup and even with a Provari a backup is a good plan because it's not always system failures you need backups for.

Let's say your $300 is for EVERY 10 weeks, about what cigarettes would cost and you could just about fit enough liquid in with your $300 to make it 10 weeks with the kit. If you could go 10 weeks without dropping your mod off a building, losing it, dropping it in the toilet or getting frustrated not being able to vape while you wrap a coil a Provari kit would be great. After 10 weeks you get a backup then you're set to start working on liquids.

Personally I don't think you need to get the best to find reliable. You need to learn how to use what you get reliably.
I went my first year using eGo-C's, they were reliable for me in spite of others having problems with the tanks. I did have one near complete failure while out, I carried 3 batteries, had a short which requires a charger to reboot the battery. I shorted 2 batteries before I figured out I had a shorted atty and limped home with one battery left.
I have Vamos, eVics and an SVD with an assortment of AGA gennies and some RDA's in use now. They're all reliable. I've never had a failure while out with the big mods. But I almost always carry 2 just in case.

So if you want a Provari get a Provari. If you want cheaper get cheaper. But get a backup and learn how to use what you get.
And BTW, you don't need to get a ________ to backup a ________, although I like that for consistency sake, you just need something to see you through until you can replace the Provari you just dropped off the fishing boat.

you've had a lot of good responses,,,,,,

I just spent some time looking for a good mod, and I checked out A LOT of them,,,,I wanted something quality,,,,easy and cheap to fix, if it broke,,,,,,,,and something I could use for years and years,,,,,,

Here's the ones I discovered,,,,,,

Provari
REO
Svoe Maesto (or however you spell it)

the REO pretty much you have to learn to rebuild, and I just wasn't into that,,,,,,,the squeeze required to get juice to the atty also gives some people problems,,,,,,,,

the Svoe Maesto is built in Germany, and that spelled issues for me sending it in for repair if necessary.

I ended up with the Provari,,,,,,,,,,not saying you should.

It really depends on what kind of vaping you like to do,,,,,,,and where you live. If you're in Europe, you might want the Svoe Maesto,,,,,

if you love mechs and rebuilding and you love dripping, you might want the REO.

and if you just want to stick a topper on it and stick in a battery and vape,,,,,,,go with the Provari,,,,,

It's really so independent. You're the only one who can decide.

One thing though, as long as you're looking for opinions,,,,,I've seen the MVP2 recommended,,,,,,,,,,great battery,,,,,,,,but when the batt is gone,,,,,,,,toss it. It can't be replaced, it can't be fixed,,,,,,,,,it's time to hit the trash can,,,,,,,,,,,,,and if you vape a lot,,,,,,,,it can be dead in six months. Great as a back up, though,,,,,and the price is fabulous.

I love my IBTanked Pyrex Carto tank with Provari. Since I found the IBtanked carto tank I quit searching for something better, I finally have the perfect vape for me. I haven't had to fight with a fussy tank like I did with protanks, vivi nova's and iclears and didn't have to learn to build with RDAs or RBAs. My boyfriend uses a trident RDA and has a kayfun, I honestly still prefer my IBTanked on my provari!

Tough to answer this without knowing what kind of vape you're looking for... Kayfun/Russian91 are amazing tanks. But what level are you at building? They arent easy to get right even though people make it look easy. I felt confident my first time and realized I needed practice. But if you put the time in they are AMAzaZING tanks. Either way keep in mind that youll be limited on wattage and if you like sub OHM coils forget the provari all together. But my stance on the kayfun and russian sticks, they rock if you put the time and due-dilligence in. Good luck brosiodon :vapor:
