Obviously, this is subjective, but I'm looking to hear opinions. Here's a bit of rough criteria here:

- Variable Voltage (Wattage doesn't concern me, I can do some quick head math to set a topper at whatever wattage I want)
- Durable/Reliable, preferably with a good warranty and available repairs
- Looks good with a glass bottom coil clearomizer
- Aesthetics are important too!

I was originally looking at the Provari, but I've been hearing that it has problems with airflow due to a lack of air channels built in. I'm not against a Provari by any means, but I'm just looking for opinions. I'm not intending to be a sub-ohm vaper or anything, but I would be interested in starting to build my own coils as well.

My current setup is an eGo Twist topped with a Mini Protank V2, and it's been working well, but taxes are coming in and I'm ready to step it up. If I have to go a bit over my budget to do so, that's fine too. I want something that will last me a long time.

That's exactly the setup I started with, and then moved on to a Provari. I haven't had any issues with airflow as none of the toppers I have have it on the bottom. I have drippers (IGO-W and a Forge clone, with a Nimbus and Patriot on the way), a Kayfun 3.1 clone (gave it to the boyfriend because the draw was too tight, but that doesn't have anything to do with the Provari), and an AGA-T2, no problem. The boyfriend is using an Aerotank without issue and we have a couple Aspire Nautiluses and Kraken clones on the way. I do rebuild our stuff and we also have no interest in sub-ohming. For daily drivers, Provari has been a good choice for us. I'm sure the MPV crowd will be along any moment. :)

At your budget, it's hard not to recommend a Provari, and If you have Mini PT2's just get the 510 to Ego adapter and your airflow issues will be eliminated.

Also some clearo's have channeling built into the base of the clearo so that you can flush mount it without airflow issues.

It would be nice if the Provari had some notches in the 510 connector for airflow tho.

That being said, the ProVari is an amazing device with fantastic build quality and superior voltage regulation. That's no lie.

And because I am an MVP 2 shill...I'd recommend an MVP 2 for your "out and about" or backup vape.

At 45.00 you will get an amazing vape off of it. 2600 mAh will last you all day long. Built in micro USB charging means you can charge it on the go with your phone charger/car charger. No need to carry around a charger or extra batteries.

Plus if you do mess up your MVP 2 while out and about, you won't go into fits because you just tossed a couple hundred in APV and tank down the old toilet.

If I had $300.00 that's the way I'd do it. ProVari at home, MVP on the road.

I'd actually been looking at either the MVP2, or more recently the Smoktech Gripper as a nice pocket-sized backup kit. They're both rather cheap, so I won't be too disappointed if they break or anything either.

No experience with the Gripper. Although some have commented negatively on the build quality. MVP2, however, is built like a brick poop-house. Very solid.

Some have had connection issues because the 510 well is a smidge deep. But I have 4 mini PT 2's and 2 Mini PT 1's and they all connect fine. I had ONE Evod that had an issue and I simply pulled the bottom pin of the Head down a bit and it fixed it. I've since moved to the glass tanks for various reasons and haven't had any connectivity issues with any of them.

Also, while this topic is alive, I'm looking at a Black Provari V2.5 with a green LED, and I'd like to find a tank that'd match it size/color wise, that is also glass and a bottom coil if at all possible.

A lot of people like the new Aerotank from Kanger and the Aspire Nautilus. Both have adjustable airflow so you will be able to flush mount them to the ProVari with no issue.

Innokin is releasing a new Pyrex Iclear 30 in February and that looks interesting.

One thing about the Nautilus and the Iclear, the glass is threaded. That gives me some pause, but Pbusardo gives the Nautilus a huge thumbs up. The Areotank uses standard Mini Protank 2 glass, so no issues there, but the airflow adjustment on it appears to be rather loose, so your airflow may vary some......

I swear I searched for that old topic and couldn't find it, I assumed they expired. My bad. Would a mod mind closing one of these topics?

Don't sweat it, man. If you'd like to find all your old posts, go visit your profile, there is a page with all of them located there.

My :2c::

Nemesis clone + Kick2 + 2 properly rated IMR 18650's + Xtar charger = $100 (thereabouts)

Your welcome.:p

With the $200 dollars you've saved you could turn around and buy a Reo + RM2 as well. (just kidding, I wouldn't press a Reo on a newcomer.)

I've never had any issues with airflow on a ProVari. I've used cartos, ProTank, ProTank V2, Evods (with adapter), CE4's (with adapter) MT3's (with adapter) and a variety of rebuildable atomizers.

I've only heard of a few problems with airflow and that was specific to the ProTank, and only in select cases, and the problem was always caused by poor QC on the ProTank.

There are other good choices out there if you decide not to go with a ProVari, but if you do go with a ProVari, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Since I don't use clearos, I am going with ProVari and an IBTanked Carto tanks. There are a number of ways to deal with the airflow issue. One, use flanged cartos. Or, get IBTanked's version of the ProRing, which has airholes in it. Or, get a Hippo from Atomisitque, which is an airflow controller.

Did we BOTH just recommend that the OP go with a ProVari?!!!??? Will wonders never cease?

Nemesis(clones) Are nice. Several solid quality releases
A couple of IB Tanked 22mm tanks and your preferred Carto's and your in business. Enough left to pick up a KayFun(clone) to see if you are really interested in building.

I have to say, to date, My Neme/Kayfun Combos are just so enjoyable I have a hard time picking up my other devices. Nothing wrong with any of the rest. Just so much more from the Kayfun. :)
