360MAh vs 880MAh or higher?

Ok, What exactly can 3.6/3.7 volt Li-ion Cr123a/16340 rechargeable battery rated at 880 mah do better than
2 x rcr10440 3.7v 360 mah batteries??

I just want something that will give me consistent vapor hits throughout the day so I know if I'm not getting much vapor, it's NOT the battery, and don't have to check everything else first all the time, only to discover it's my battery that's the problem.

ATLEAST if I knew my batteries lasted for longer periods, it would help eliminate playing the guessing game over & over to find out if the battery is dying or is it something else.

Ya know, "is it my cartridge?, no, do I have enough liquid?, yes, is my atty clogged?, nope, is my battery low again, YES!

The higher the MAh the longer the battery will last. Normal factory PV batteries are around 180 MAh. Hope this helps.

I don't think you can get a 10440 "protected".

Not really. It depends on battery construction too.

There are special batteries rated at 100mAh but can be drained with 2 amps whereas there are 2000mAh batts that can only be drained at 100mAmps (so even fully charged it will not vape at all).


Also draining a batt at currents more than it's capacity will destroy it faster.

So whenever you can pick a larger battery, use it!

I'd say that a good 900mAh batt will serve you better and longer (in time, after many charging cycles) then the best ~300mAh one.

Yes my 2000 mah are lasting me for an easy 2 days or about 8ml of juice. so that seems about right.

It depends how much current is needed for a good vapor.

- For best LiIon battery life you should shoot for 1C discharge.. (may not apply to LiPo or newer technologies, but good rule of thumb)
- Any batteries in parallel are like a larger battery. (So two 360mAh in parallel are just like one 720mAh)

It's more complex with internal resistances and problems generating more then 1C discharge.. so for a 360mAh battery, any current over ~400mA will reduce the lifetime of the battery and probably at 800mA it might not generate enough current.

So, yes, you should be shooting for 880mAh (total) or >1000mAh if you are shooting for the 1A current to the atty. A single 360mAh will either not produce enough current, or seriously hurt the lifetime of the battery (1A would be a 3C discharge).

I don't find any real reason NOT to use two smaller batteries in parallel rather then one larger battery for the same total mAh rating. However, for a given size obviously the larger rated battery will be much smaller volume then two smaller cells.

Charge/discharge time would hypothetically be the same for two 360mAh in parallel versus one 720mAh cell.

This is a great question.. I'm totally confused about something concerning this..

I've got a box mod (3.7 volt 360 mAh). With it, it states that you use a 10440 battery... I got that..

What I'm confused about, is that with all the stores/companies, they have all the different mAh's (like 900mAh)..

So, If I tried to use one that is not a 360mAh and attempted say this 900mAh will it wreck my mod or is it safe???

I'm going to amend this.. Sorry.. I thought one site said it was a 10440 3.7 volt 900mAh, but it's a 900mAh 14500 V3.7 Battery so I guess it's the wrong size....

the 10440 is like a 6 shot 22 caliber pistol, the 16340 is like a 10 shot 9mm cal pistol. The big one has more shots, and more potent shots. (please watch out for unprotected cells in either size), Bigger mah won't be as stressed with each puff, and will have more puffs.

If you saw a 900mah 10440 advertised somewhere (they be lying).

You can absolutely get protected 10440 batteries. You can get them at VaporFlow, MadVapes, Super T Manufacturing, etc....
