I recently ordered a Phoenix sleeved tank and also a sleeveless to see the difference between them. Both carts are identical even though the site says it can not be used in a sleeve. Don't know, may be I was sent the wrong one. No matter.
My comment is about the sleeve. Why bother with this at all. The sleeve just slips over the tube and I might add not too snug either. If I tilt my PV down it actually starts to slide off. Whose brainstorm in China was this. The could have at least flanged the inside bottom of the sleeve so the cart could go inside and hold it down. But instead they flanged the bottom of the cart which does absolutely nothing for the sleeve except keep it from falling down. Anyway my point is ... don't bother with the sleeve. It's kinda worthless.
And why didn't they make the drip tip adapter on the top more easily removable so these can be cleaned like the XL's?
That's engineers for ya. Always looking for a more difficult way.
Other than that I am very happy with them. Taste is slightly less to me than the Phoenix XL BC's which I don't quite understand because the hardware inside looks nearly identical except for the bigger tube. Maybe the extra fluid surrounding the coil area has a cooling effect. Whatever, these are good, the XL's are great and I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE RAVEN!!!!!!!!

The metal center tube in the sleeveless is shorter than the metal center tube in the sleeved to allow for the metal cap that holds the drip tip to be inserted into the sleeveless tank. The metal cap that holds the drip tip on the sleeved version is in the sleeve opposed to being inserted into the tank. I am not partial to the sleeved version myself but I can see where some might like the idea of being able to put their PV in their top pocket securely. I think the sleeved version has a better appearance also but appearance to me is secondary to function and simplicity. Plus, the sleeved version makes the draw a little stiffer for me.

Apparently I got two sleeve tanks because they are both threaded on top.

The sleeveless tank has the threaded metal drip tip holder / cap inserted into the top of the tank / tube. The sleeved tank has the threaded metal drip tip holder / cap inserted into the top of the sleeve.

So the sleeve itself is suppossed to have the drip tip holder? My sleeve is just a tube with no ends. I'm really confused now.

Thanks. That makes more sense for the sleeve to attach with the drip tip adapter attached to the sleeve and going into the cart. I was sent 2 sleeveless carts then and a sleeve with no drip tip adapter mounted. Instead of 1 sleeved version and 1 sleeveless version. Very weird. Oh well. They work fine but definitely not what I specified in the order. I was more or less just curious to see the sleeved version.

You are very welcome.
Sounds like the one you received with no drip tip adapter may have been a Sleeved Replacement Tank. Although they are shown on the website as out of stock. The bottom right pic i posted is actually a pic of the Sleeved Replacement Tank. I used it to show as an example of the sleeved tank because it is exactly the same. The replacement tank does not come with the drip tip adapter as it is a replacement "tank" for the sleeved version.

Thank you for pointing that out. I have not ordered any of the newest stock yet. As I have not heard of any changes I assumed they were the same. I would really like to see a pick of the new ones. Could be a game changer for me.

To add:
I posted a question about when the replacement tanks would be in stock and Dan said they where on the tail of this newest 3ml Phoenix restock.

This is not a pic of the sleeved version they are sending out now. If I get a chance I will post a pic. It is basically an unsleeved version with a sleeve that slides over it. The mouthpiece is attached to the carto not the sleeve. The replacement part will not work with the new sleeve. Maybe that is why they are not selling them.

No offense but I started a new thread to get some other opinions....;)
