Congratulations, Stefania123!

The third day is usually the "hardest" with any addiction. If you've made it this far, you made a major milestone. If you feel yourself tempted, come here! If you slip up and smoke a real cig, don't beat yourself up! Forgive yourself, grab your vape, and keep charging through!

What helped me to overcome the real cig thing, every time I wanted to smoke, I grabbed my vape. I forced myself to vape instead of smoke. And while vaping, I kept telling myself, "You can vape inside! You can vape and your clothes won't stink! You can vape and your mouth won't taste like an ashtray! You can vape and not feel guilty when going to church on Sunday morning worried about stinking! I can kiss my grandma now without her smacking her tongue! I can save money! I can extend my life!" Also, the biggest, most convincing factor for me (and you can look at my avatar to see why): it's so flippin' futuristic and high-tech and cutting edge, I really do feel like I'm in on something that could very well blow up into something EPIC. I'm a sci-fi nut, so this is right up my alley.

Thanks Rocketpunk. :) All good points, and thank God for this forum. And yeah.. it is pretty futuristic :D I vaped my way through it with this great blueberry flavor i got today.. so that little craving monster has passed. But definitely good to know though if it comes back i can come back here and have people to chat with. Thank you all so much <3

I normally would never suggest this, but to new vapers, I say go for the 2.4 mg nicotine level. That's ONLY if you were a heavy smoker. Some people can get sick from this amount, but it was what I needed to keep me off real cigs. The eventual end game goal for me is to reduce my nicotine addiction... But in all honestly, I love vaping too damn much to give it up. I've come to terms with my vaping. Yes, I no longer smoke real tobacco cigarettes and all the carcinogens that come with them. Honestly, vaping is no longer a way for me to beat nicotine addiction. I... love... I love my nicotine.

It's just a "healthier alternative".

Don't forget to congratulate yourself on the little milestones you have; the first full week of no cigarettes, the first time you fight a craving and win, the first time someone offers you a cigarette....and you say "no thanks". Milestones to be sure, but only truly understood by us.

The one milestone that made me smile was when getting ready to leave in the morning and in my pants I put my car key, house keys, wallet, pen...and left my lighter on my dresser. I picked it up, rolled it in my hand, put it back down, smiled and said to myself, "I don't need this anymore.".

Remember to celebrate the little victories. The fact that you made it through your craving last night is yet another victory in a long line of upcoming victories.

Congrats !

I have heard that it takes 21 days to break a habit. I kinda eased into though. When I started I was only going to vape at home and in my car and smoke at work. After about 2 weeks of this though I found myself vaping at work too. And after about 3 weeks I just quit buy cigarettes all together and haven't had one since.

I think most of it is we associate most of out smoking with the activities that we are doing at the time. Like for me as soon as I got in my car I would light up...same for after a big meal. And don't even get me started when I was sitting at the computer...chain smoked the whole time and didn't even realize it.

Once you get those activites with vaping instead of smoking its easy! It will get better.
