Hmm metaphorical. To not actually do what I said, but is used to describe an action.

Metaphorically speaking means what you say is not to be taken literally. It is a way of speaking that uses figures of speech or tangible objects to represent an intangible quality or idea e.g. 'your eyes are like the stars'.

actually, "your eyes are like stars" is actually a simile. a common mistake. both can be rhetorical figures expressing comparisons, but a simile uses "like or an equivalent".

oh...and on topic. i see it as being like an alcoholic...i am still a smoker, i've just managed to not smoke a cigarette since i've started vaping. give it 30 or 40 years, sometime after the great machine uprising that enslaves all mankind, and mebbe i'll change my status.

Yeah, I'm a smoker. I haven't used an analog in years, but I gain great satisfaction from drawing nicotine into my lungs. If suddenly denied my vapor, I'd return to my analogs in a heartbeat.

I went through withdraw and a detoxing period ( which wasn't very pleasant by the way ) when I stopped smoking and started vaping if I was still a smoker I would have not experienced ether of those things. If I stopped drinking coffee but still got my daily dose of caffeine from tea would I still be a coffee drinker? no I'm not a smoker any more if for some reason I couldn't vape I would not return to cigarettes.

I've been a ex-smoker for five month now
And now use 6mg and sometimes that seems to strong.

Nicotine "addict" same as if I was using a patch for the rest of my life or until it stops helping my health, whichever comes first.
Funny how none of the anti-addict people would have a problem with that.
