Okay, somebody please please tell me it gets better from here...

I just ordered my third kit (not counting partner's kit) in two weeks. Started with Firelight (branded 402 Micro). Two broken batteries and a broken atomizer - nasty thick 'tobacco' sweet vanilla liquid. batteries die in 1 hour. Last week I ordered and started using the 510 which came with a sampler pack of liquid - the batteries die in 1 hour, too. But seem to vape better but wow.. having to top off every 5 or 6 puffs. Also, nic has been 12-16mg levels.

So today I ordered an eGO kit with XL batteries (talking to vendor and he offered to swap them out of kit for me so I wouldn't have to buy both) with mega cartomizers and 2 30ml bottles of 24 mg juice in 555 and Dark flavors. I'm now $400.00+ into this replacement habit. Please, someone, tell me it gets better from here.

Sometimes, if you didn't research first, finding a good PV can take a while especially if you get suckered into the crappier brands with nasty juice and short battery life (but but they look like cigs! lol)
This is one reason we try and dissuade people from getting stuck on 'it must resemble a cigarette' - the tiny PV are ok but they wont last long and a lot of the more heavily publicised brands tell you things like ' a cart is equal to one pack of cigs' which is patently untrue and not helpful to new users. They also give you low doses of nic in dubious tasting liquids and expect you to find it a decent replacement to smoking. Might as well try and vape a patch.. lol
The eGo though IS a decent model - I use one myself - and providing you get good liquid you will find it a very respectable replacement for smoking. I've been cig-free for 8 months now - after smoking for 25 years and am much healthier and happier (and richer!).

Sorry to hear it. Was there no warranty with the 'firelight' stuff that arrived broken? Do you chain-vape? My 510s last over 4 hours, but it may be because I vape less or perhaps you got inferior batteries?

In any case, sorry you're out the cash, but once you get the right equipment I think it will be worth it, if it gets you off the tobacco.

I've been vaping and smoke free for a week, aside from 4 cigs I had on tuesday. Into it for about $300 so far and mean to spend at least several hundred more over the next few months.

I think I've been lucky so far. Got a 510 kit from eliquidplanet, a Tornado/ego kit from TW along with an extra 510 battery and atomizer. Probably enough juice to last over a year. After cleaning the attys, all of the hardware is performing well.

Try not to get too discouraged. I think everyone can successfully switch to vaping with some patience.

It gets better from there :) I went through the same thing with a Blu, then bad batteries, then bad atomizers, then bought a pack of smokes. Now I am very good with my ego mega batteries and some good 510 attys and way too much fun e-juice.

you will see :)

You've got some good hardware now. Next step is the juice.

Small bottles. Different flavors. Different strengths. Get some that sound good and get some weird ones. You need to find satisfaction now and that is in the juice.

Really, my experience and others shows that it will be the juice you least expect that will be the one that works.

Good luck on the next step, finding the juice that brings it all slamming home. You are close.

you did good with getting the eGo i had the same problem with my first 510 kit. With the XL batteries you will be able to go most of the day if not all day on one battery. Might even want to consider getting a USB passthru and a 2amp USB hub to power it for back up and also it takes the wear and tare off the batteries. Might not work for you but i tend to sit in front of this damn puter quite a bit so it helps me out alot.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Just about had a melt down yesterday - and felt like scrapping the whole idea. Not been vaping well with the 510s. They seem to burn pretty hot, dripping 2-3 drops every 4 or 5 puffs... I'd be shot if not for pass thru. Think part of it has been not getting enough nicotine so have been chaining pretty hard. Hopefully the 24mg will help. But having said that, I've been 2-3 analogs a day since I started 2 weeks ago and the difference already in my breathing and sleeping is truly amazing. I'm a 29+ (but not quite 30) year smoker at 1 to 1 1/2 packs a day - so this is huge to me. Again, thanks for the encouragement!

I got the 510 and its ok, short batt life though.
My kr808 last a little longer but today I had one last 12 hours light vaping with a 901 cart.
My ego xl lasts all day and half the night (insomniac here!).
been using my AAA puck with disposable batts for 3 days now, light vaping.
Using my AA puck (the desktop) for 6 days on a set of rechargeable 2800 mAh bats.
But, like everyone is saying... get the right juice and its awesome!

Yeah, they warranties 1 battery and 1 atomizer, I didn't bother with the second battery because I was so fed up with the model over all. Dicking with cartridges every smoking session had me give up on the model, hence ordering the 510s. The 510s were a "great deal" with 4 batteries, 4 atomizers, 10 pre-filled Marlb. carts and 15 blank carts, 2 wall chargers and a PPC with usb cable and wall charger for $150. When I read 1 to 1.5 hrs battery life, I assumed that mean actual vaping time. If I'm chaining I can kill a battery in 20 minutes so use the pass thru at home all over the house. Haven't smoked in house in 3 years... vaping has been a "treat".

Hopefully the new juice at 24mg will help and I won't hot box so much. I agree with you though I think everyone can switch with patience. After almost 30 years of 1 to 1.5 packs a day I'm now doing 2-3 over last 2 weeks & 2 days. Thanks for the buck up!

It does get better. Most of my earlier purchases were to try and find something the wife would use(haven't given up yet), Started with the Smokestik(RN4081 type) - tiny carts and short batt life, OK vapor.
Then the Intellicig(M401) - again tiny carts but better batt life, OK vapor.
Then the 510 which I liked but constantly was fiddling with the atomizers and carts but MUCH better vapor, OK batt life.
Then the eGo - phenomenal batt life but still fiddling with carts and atomizers. Vast improvement with the eGo once started to use cartomizers.
Finding the right strength and flavor of liquid is a key to success. If you can get samplers then you can see what one(s) you really like and whether you prefer PG,VG or PEG.
Once you know what you like you could try your hand at Do It Yourself liquid. I have just reached this point and my current budget is $60.00/month on hardware and liquid, with any luck I will have enough on hand by Xmas to last over a year and I can save up for a Precise 10440 (P10) from Super-T Manufacturing(super nice MOD).

All the best, Happy Vaping,
Wing.

Once you settle on a devise that you like, and a juice that can get you through the day, it will get cheaper and more enjoyable. The eGO is a good choice, but I doubt that your search will end there. I went from 510 to 510 Mega, to 510 eGO, to SP2 and MKII mods, and have finally settled on the REO. It has been an expensive quest for the best vaping experience, with the least amount of hassle, but I've finally made it, and the best part is - after 55+ years - no analogs. Good luck to you!
