I received my Joye 510 from cignot on Monday. As I still have analogs here, I have not been totally analog free yet. (I paid for them, and I won't be throwing that money away but throwing away the analogs)

When I first decided to try vaping, I thought the most important things to me would be vapor production and flavor. However, I have discovered that, throat hit is possibly just as important if not more important to me then vapor production.

So now that I have discovered that about myself, what effects TH? Is it the mg of nicotine in the juice? (I have mostly been using the 18mg Cam flavor from esmokeytreats) Or is it something besides the juice that directly affects TH? The pv itself, the atty, the cart, the cart filler?

I don't know if this information is needed but the analogs I smoked were Doral lights (gold box)

I will say that I have found (so far) that I really need to "puff" once or twice before actually inhaling to get consistent vapor production, but the TH seems to be very random.

Also I have started using the straw mod for my carts, and that has helped with the refilling, imho

I appreciate all advice :)

It is the PG that produces the throat hit and if you hols the button down for about 1 second before inhaling and pull slowly it does work better and I find it keeps the atty coil cleaner over time.
I agree, thats what I was told here when I started and it seemed to work for me.

Many things create throat hit. It is your body's way of saying "What the hell did you just inhale???" It is not necessarily a good thing. Inhale CO2 gas and you will get a huge coughing TH, because your lungs do not want it! Things in e-juice that cause TH:

PG
nicotine that is "available", and not wrapped up in thick VG.
Some flavors, like for me coffee and mints.
Adding alcohol to a juice, both from the alc itself, and it thins the juice, "unwrapping" the nic.

TH from nic is fine. TH from PG itself indicates your throat and lungs are not happy. Same with some flavors. Lorann butter is another one that sends me coughing. I can't vape PG as it irritates too much. My VG juices I make have very good nic TH as long as I thin them with some distilled water.
