Well, Kat, unfortunately that first question you asked is the first on the road to many more questions. I suggest looking around on the forums and reading reviews on the M401, the DSE901 and the Joye510. Personally, I use the 510 and I love it.

After you've narrowed it down to one of those models, go to the national forum for your country and check out the suppliers and prices.

Passthroughs are a way of getting constant power to the atomizer. Plug the cord into a USB slot and vape till the cows come home.

In general, eCig batteries are rechargeable (thank god).

Errrrrrr. Let's try this approach:

Welcome to MY FREEDOM SMOKES

That place sells plain PG for cutting or making nic-free juice (and also 48mg PG) in varying amounts. I don't know if it is the CHEAPEST, but the prices seem decent to me and it seems to be of good quality. Plain PG is at the bottom of the page. Of course, other places sell PG, and you can even get it at some tractor supply stores. For all I know, that is where MFS gets theirs, but somehow I feel better getting it from an e-cig place. Just personal preference! You just want to make sure it is USP / food grade. <Unless as the previous poster guessed, you meant PV. In which case, ignore this paragraph.>

As far as the passthroughs: Yes, the battery is rechargeable, and in fact it charges while you have it plugged into a USB port. For that reason, you can also unplug it and still use it for a while. BUT, not all passthroughs have inline batteries. Those types send about 5v to your atty and you cannot unplug them and continue to use them. I prefer the inline battery type, but others prefer the no battery / 5v type because it gives a better hit due to the higher voltage. Personally, I don't want to over-volt my atty for fear of killing it sooner.

Hope this helps.

Kevin...my pass through battery doesn't seem to recharge when plugged into the usb. I had to recharge it seperately...not sure why.

Some computers have a setting enabled to turn power off to USB ports when not in use and it likely would not detect the passthrough as being connected. There is a place where you can check and change this and if you use Windows, I could probably help you check if you'd like to get it to work. Also, if you are using a USB HUB, you need to make sure it is a powered one (there would be a power cord running to it in addition to the USB cord that goes from the hub to a USB port on the computer).

Another possibility is that I think you need to let it charge via USB for at least a few hours before using it. As far as I know, even when plugged into the USB port, it won't work if the battery is dead or severely discharged.
