between that and those talon nails...

anyway, I had a great day. The wife's car needed work. So I looked in the basement, through boxes of stuff. And I had all the parts!!! And all the tools. And I didn't hit a stop where I couldn't get something off or on. Got it all done, it's running better than it has in a while. The Mrs. is very happy. And I got it all done before dinner!!

:)

Morning! How's the back Always???

Was thinking about you yesterday and all your house projects. My spare bathroom looks like complete crap, needs paint and new light fixtures. I was thinking about picking out paint and painting it myself. Then the thought was gone

I'm so bad at stuff like that. And last time I painted, it looked like a 3 yr old did it.

I did the spare bathroom last year. It looks really nice now. But it took me a long time. I had to finish off the molding in several places. Trying to find stuff that matches was not fun. Redoing the window was a killer, inside and out. it had several layers of chipped and peeling paint, going back to the 85yr original.

If it's just the walls, it would have been easy. But the chair rail took time. I hate cutting angles.

But the wife is happy. That's everything!

Keeps seeming to get better for a bit then I go to wash my hair or something and it tweaks again. Boooooored.

Bathrooms are a pain in the azz. For such a small room there is a ton of time spent taping off everything and removing hardware etc. But I enjoy painting when all the crap work is done. All I can say is don't take shortcuts, it makes it all harder in the end. Do the ceilings first, get a Wooster brush for trim work and cutting in at the ceiling, use valspar paint and primer (covers really well for us, even over weird colors and tar stains from previous owners) its worth the money. Throw a garbage bag over the toilet tank instead of trying to tape it off. Beers and loud music make it all go faster. Do the floors last so you aren't worried about them while painting.

Also, consider maybe spray painting the light fixtures or other hardware if they still work well. Rustoleum oil rubbed bronze paint is amazing and makes it all look updated for cheaper than replacements

Just reading these post had me tired, confused and dazed. And wish I could salvage the light fixtures but they are broken :(

Not sure how the hubs managed to BREAK them changing the bulbs  They are the stupid kind that the bulbs have screws around them that a part needs taken off just to change the bulbs and he yanked them out and broke them. UGH!

My spring bulbs. The front was all completely redone last year so isn't nearly as pretty, the bulbs will take a couple years to really flourish since I moved them
