Yup, cloudy day, run some errands. Got a nice full filet mignon, only $8.89/lb. And they trim it up for you. Got about 10 to 12 nice portions, about 1.5" thick. This is where the foodsaver "suck n seal" pays off. Oh, and space in the deep freeze.

Sunny day mid 50s!!! Roast chicken (of course, brined first) is making a wonderful racket in the kitchen.

Just got back from Zackie's memorial service. Over 200 people showed up! My daughter got sympathy cards from as far away as Munich, Germany. A friend is flying from Bangkok for the sole reason of seeing her. As my daughter said, the love Zackie gave out was reflected back to him.
I will try not to complain about little things, and most "things" are little, by taking inspiration from that little guy. My daughter was almost too upset to stay but after hearing the loving words from so many, she got up to give a 10 minute, beautiful, extemporaneous speech about the courage and love of her little son.
Thank you all for being my sounding board. As Grandpa/Dad I had to try to be stoic through all this. I promise that I will be more upbeat in the future.

BLT, if nothing else, we are a good sounding board. Sometimes, there is a need to express oneself to others, to share in the joy, pain, happiness, heartache, or boredom. It's who we are. First brought together by a common interest, then bonded by many.

My State police Marine patrol grand-daughter didn't like her job cause it puts her out of work all winter so she's been trying to get into a local PD ever since Fall. She finally got excepted by not one but 2 police departments. She will work both at part time til one gives her a full time position.
