That Dave is quite the character! Glad y'all had a good time, even tho Scape is prolly traumatized now....:lol::lol::lol::lol::facepalm:

On a less brighter note: It's a mess in Tx. I've got folks there. Some have been hit and some have not. Houston is an enormous city. You can drive for miles and still be within the city limits. Please pray for the residents of Houston.

Austin is well within the maximum flooding zone. Prayers sent down to Texas.

no need to worry aboot meh, i live at teh highest point in town. so unless my old beareded neighbor starts building a boat 300 cubits long and loading pairs of animals on board it, ima not worried. Downtown got some flooding, and some debreez...debriefs...dubloons....downtown got a bunch of trash and stuff tossed around due to teh rain and winds.

Houston got hammered, and then some. A front from the north came in, and pushed back against the storm, meaning it ended up lingering over Houston and SE Texas for a couple of days instead of moving further inland.

The epic adventure.

Old friends
Old friends
Sat on their park bench
Like bookends
A newspaper blown through the grass
Falls on the round toes
On the high shoes
Of the old friends

Old friends
Winter companions
The old men
Lost in their overcoats
Waiting for the sunset
The sounds of the city
Sifting through trees
Settle like dust
On the shoulders
Of the old friends

Can you imagine us
Years from today
Sharing a park bench quietly?
How terribly strange
To be seventy

Old friends
Memory brushes the same years
Silently sharing the same fear

I often wish I could play guitar like Paul Simon. I would love to play like Johnny Winter.

But I know I can never play like Walter Becker.

I marvel at directions his music travels, how it always sounded unique, yet familiar.

Thank you, Walter. You will be missed.

Rest in Peace.
