I bought a couple of the5.0v megladon batts a few weeks ago and a charger. One batt charges fine and the other is weird and sometimes charges fine and sometimes doesn't. So, I bought a second charger (I'm anticipating buying 3 or 4 more of these batts so a second charger was a good idea regardless).

On the old charger, it takes about 45 minutes or so for the wall wart light to turn green and the batts never get warm while I leave them on for 6 to 8 hours. On the new charger, the light on the wall wart didn't ever turn green during an 8 hour charging session, the battery got warm right away and stayed warm until I removed it from the charger.

Which charger is acting like it is supposed to?

I wanted to bump this up to the top in hopes that someone from electonicstix would chime in, I got my charger today and have had my battery on for a few hours and it is also getting pretty hot, is that a problem, it makes me a bit nervous. I just took the batt off the charger and took a volt reading and it is at 5.71, is that how high it is suppose to go or is the charger overcharging them?

I just received an e-mail reply from the manufacturer I think everyone can just relax lol. I will paste it below.

Hello Jason,

The battery will become heat when charging, just like mobile phone will be heat when charge.

You know when fully charged, the voltage is higher than norminal voltage. And it will be 5.8V~5.9V.

Amy

So according to them I guess it should be that when pulled off the charger. I talked to tim in the uk and he states to leave on charger 5-6 hours.
