I am using the istick at 3.5 volts with a protank 3 dual coil and every coil i put in I get a burnt taste after about three drags.
I am using Apollo razzle. Not sure the ratio.
I am using both kanger 1.5 and 1.8 and I can't figure out why I can't get past 3 drags without wanting to throw up from the burnt taste. At first I thought it was a bad coil so i tried another on but still bad. Then I tried a different protank 3 and still the same problem.
I am planning on rebuilding my the 8 coils that taste awful but until I get my delivery is there anything I can do to get thru this tough time in my life. The first coil that I used in my protank worked great with this juice but now I can't get one to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Are you priming the coils? Also, Istick 20, 30, or 50? The 20 runs a little hot.

I am letting the juice sit for at least 5 minutes. Usually about an hour. Then take a few draws without turning on the battery until I taste the flavor. Then I start at the lowest voltage and then stop at 3.5 volts
Not sure which model I have. To goes up to 20w and 5 volts. Never brought it anywhere near the max.

My experience with the Istick 20, the 1.5 and to some extent even the 1.8's are just a little hot, don't think the 20 really regulates down far enough for them. Try a 2.2 if you can get them. Also prime them by dripping a few drops directly on the coil (down the throat) the chimney tube when you install it. I use the single coils mostly in an aerotank, but have used the dual coils.

Good luck with it, don't give up!

Bring the wattage down.

Take smeller drags

Prime the coils yourself. To the point where the whole cotton area is wet.

I had the same issue at first. I realized it takes practice.

Make sure your not burning the cotton instead of just heating it up to a nice vape.

This is my hot spot on a 50 watt and subtank mini .5 ohm's 29.1 wattage 2 air holes 50/50 juice I love menthol from vaporin mixed with any berry vg i get from zamplebox. I also replace the cotton with organic ... cotton every refil.

The higher your wattage the shorter your drags should be be.

Turn the power DOWN...... On my mod I run my Kayfun at 8-9 watts. With my Protank 3, using the same OHM coil, I will have to run at less than 7 watts or it burns. The reason I come up with is , airflow and chamber size. Small chamber contains lots of heat and restricts wicking and atomization. Very tight protank airflow, doesn't help this situation. A Kanger Mini PT3 is my backup tank, I run it with a 2ohm vert coil at 5-6 watts in my mod.. In my Kayfun, that same 2ohm coil would run at 8-9 watts.

Hi brian,

There are a number of possible reasons.

First, it needed cleaned before first use - many of us learned that over the years - though I am to lazy to always do it. At one time, Kanger T2 heads were notorious for "burnt."

Besides the voltage/wattage to high for the amount of vaping being done - the wire/coil can be wrapped to tight around the wick; my first attempt at rebuilding = burnt.
Or, the wick is to loose, also = burnt.

You may have a bad batch of coils, but try cleaning everything first. Good luck

Wicking.

That is one of the reasons people use rda's.
With an rda, you add liquid to the coil when you want to vape for a while, and if you are chain vaping you keep adding liquid.
With a tank, you basically depend on the wicking system between the tank and the coil;; If the wicking is slower that you are vaping then the wicking can't keep up and you get burnt taste after a few vapes.

vape it at the lowest voltage that it works at

once you are used to that and getting a consistent vape, then you can try one step up.

Once you go too far up, you will tend to get burnt taste more often.
