Neat! Geology is cool stuff, though I'm more into the biology/zoology myself.

Presumably you'll be there with other science minded individuals, so they might not flip out too badly if you drop your juice in a baggie and tuck it in a cooler.

I'm not sure what to tell you in terms of devices. Plastic might melt, but i don't want you to burn yourself with a metal one..

Man I should really think this over, i might find myself in this situation myself one day.

Well I'm sure they'll appreciate the 8hr van ride without me smelling like cigarettes. I've only done two other short term field studies, one was too dry to allow smoking at all. The other had a few smokers - I've noticed there are not a lot of smokers in the depart (4 out of 400, of course I do not know all of them, just the one's I've done field classes with) - and to my knowledge they know have there first vaper.
I'm studying environmental geology, so I've done a little bit of bio, plant/animal physiology, evolution and ecology, plus some paleontology (invertebrates and dinosaurs!). Got two of the smokers to try my PV and they both really liked it. Maybe I'll get them to make the switch. But they better be prepared in the field - I'm selfish and don't want to share.
