503/504 errors?

I'm not sure if this was ECF-wide or for just a subset of people, but at least a few of us have had 503 or 504 errors this morning. Any word on what happened? Thanks

Yes, I'm sorry about this.

We had two simultaneous faults: the Coupons site has crashed and someone set the sitemap generator to run.

The people responsible will be shot.

Apparently that is the site owner and the forum tech admin. We cannot shoot them as there may be issues.

The Coupons site either has a plugin issue, or our coupons don't work with it, resulting in a heavy load on the server. Needs sorting. The sitemapper runs for several hours and also heavily loads the server. With the two together, the result is that the normal load of 3 then jumps to 35 and the server freezes.

Our Wordpress admin is on vacation so we can't sort out the Coupons site just now. We'll have to take it offline until he gets back from Honolulu or wherever. The sitemapper needs to have some kind of hidden lock applied to stop this happening
