Not making your bed is actually better than making it.

When you make your bed, it makes a more safer environment for the dust mites living inside you bed. An unmade bed's warm, dry conditions are harder for the dust mites to handle.

Leaving your bed unmade cuts down on the amount of moisture in your bed, so the mites dehydrate and die. This is good because dust mites leave allergens in your bed that trigger asthma and other allergies.

Dolly Parton lost a Dolly Parton look-alike contest.

Dolly Parton showed up to a Dolly Parton lookalike contest on Santa Monica Boulevard, as a joke. She was surprised when it turned out that she didn't win, since that means that the judges thought someone else looked more like her than herself.

"I didn't know if they knew it or not and if it was a joke because they used to have all these Dollys down on Santa Monica Boulevard.

They had the contest and I just got in the line and somebody else won. I don't think they really did know it was me"

The first number that will use the letter "A" is thousand.

Unless you spell numbers like "101" as one hundred AND one, or if you want to count negatives like negative one. But if you were going to count straight up from one normally, none of the numbers have the letter "a" until you get to 1000.

Swearing when you're hurt helps reduce pain.

In a study, volunteers who cursed could tolerate pain for nearly 50% longer than volunteers who did not. Researchers at Keene University submerged volunteers' hands into freezing water to see if swearing affected their pain tolerance. The volunteers could tolerate the pain for 2 minutes when they swore, but only 1 minute and 15 seconds without swearing.

This may be because the act of swearing triggers our natural "fight or flight" response. This would increase our heart rate and downplay the importance of pain. However, if you swear all the time, swearing when experiencing pain will probably not be very effective.
