The Mingan Island Cetacean Study group have been using photographic techniques to study humpback whales for the last 16 years. In that time, they began to realize that female humpback whales not only make friends with one another but reunite each year. They remember their pals and even find them across the ocean and among other whales. This was quite a shocking discovery, as up to this point scientists believed that humpback whales were generally unsociable towards each other. When a female humpback meets her friend, they simply float along together, eating and enjoying each other’s company. These friendships seem to have benefits as female humpbacks who hang out in this way are healthier and give birth to more calves each year. However, friendships between females and males (or even male-male friendship) are mostly unheard of. For reasons that no one can explain, only the ladies like to hang out with each other.

Double post so: Niagara Falls did not freeze over completely.

Certain sections of the waterfalls froze, but water is still flowing, said Angela Berti, spokeswoman for Niagara Falls State Park.

The waterfalls sometimes look like they are frozen over because ice builds up, she said.

The American Falls — Niagara Falls is comprised of waterfalls on both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border — have frozen over twice, in 1936 and 1938.

CINCINNATI - "Black Sunday"..the day fires blazed and gas tanks exploded while the flooding continued. This is considered the worst day along the 981 mile long Ohio River. Nearly 400 people died during this 18-day floods of 1937. Cincinnati's power was shut down and emergency power tapped in from Dayton. The flooding drove 100,000 people from their Cincinnati homes. The river washed over an entire fifth of the city and much of Covington & Newport.
Here's an amazing home video of the event.....

And it has come to that time, WINNER Number 5 and our Final Winner of the Thanks for the tanks Contests is

"Do or do not, there is no try" ~Yoda

Congratulations, and a very good post as well, All winners are invited to post a comment, thought or picture of their prize. This thread will stay open for about 20 days or so, to allow comments or pictures etc from the winners. all are invited to post as well, the contest is over but all can use this thread for the next 20 days or so, then it will be closed.
505 Vapor would like to congratulate all our winners, and all who participated with close to 4,000 positive posts in a month all are winners and all of you are very cool. As we all know everything on the Internet is stored on the Internet and now their is a record of all the cool peple on ECF who wish to send a positive message, and we thank you for that.
A year ago the 505 Tank was conceived from allot of designing and focus on getting a healthy alternative to allot of plastics and metals which break down, with e-juice. It was the need for a product like this that motivated us to design and create this tank.
* Glass joints which allow proper fitting and mating of the Chrome cap to the Glass surface.
* Orings which do not break down and can roll in the cap channel to allow for easy disassembly and assembly for cleaning.
* A simplicity of use as it uses currant carto technology which is widely available.
* A quality which is of the highest caliber and continues to improve, made of German Schott Glass the glass is the most superb glass available to the public, and the metal of Chrome which we have tested extensively for break down in e-juice and it does not.
* And Finally a price that everyone can afford.
The question always comes up from new 505 Tank owners " How does it make the juice taste better" Breakdown of most plastics and metals changes the taste of juice drastically, by using the 505 Tank a common occurrence is the taste improves drastically, their is 0 break down from any material on the 505 Tank. Its simplicity is what makes it amazing, crafting the 505 Tank is anything but simple however proper crafting techniques and skilled artisans make this happen. Each tank takes about 40-60 minutes to make, with about 30-40 minutes on the torch and the rest assembling and testing.
New students to glass usually work for 1-2 months before making a tank, and their time can be up to 3 hours to make 1 tank after the 2-3 month learning period. Experienced lamp workers can make a 505 Tank much faster some times within a day, my personal best time in making 1 Tank is 6 minutes on the torch and this has happened very few times, out of 1,000 maybe 3 times. So the artisan with the skill and discipline to craft a 505 Tank is not easily found.
It is all of these factors that has come to play in making the 505 Tank, and all of it would not be possible with out all of you. As the Glass Artisan it is our job to make products which help in health it has always been so, with Lab Wear, and now with Functional Glass Art. So with out all of you great people looking to for healthy alternatives their would not be a 505 Tank, and that is why this contests is called THANKS FOR THE TANKS! From 505 Vapor we truly thank you and we will continue to make more outstanding products.
Now lets take another look at our winners.

Thank you

I agree with lilblue1 about this being an excellent contest. I'm also grateful that I was one of the winners. I have to confess that my tank is sitting right in front of me, and I haven't used it yet. I'm totally new to carto tanks, and I just haven't had the time to do it yet. I plan to this weekend (after I am done dealing with an urgent USPS Express Mail crisis). I will post about my experience with it, I promise!

Congrats to all the winners!

When it comes to cartos the most important thing is to prime the cartomizer correctly, as not doing so can burn it out, or cause burnt taste.
To prim a carto it is easiest to drip about 30 drops into a small and 40 into a large, drip on the white poly fill material and not the hole the hole goes strait through to the intake air hole. After soaking let sit for about 3-5 minutes then blow lightly from the top so extra juice exits the bottom area where the threads are, just a small blow to get the raw liquid out of the hole area, after this insert the carto into the tank and fill the tank and it is ready to use, never fire a dry carto it will taste horrible forever and the carto will need replacing.

Thank you, FireMist, for the advice. I had a little medical crisis, which is now over, but tonight I will finally give it a shot!
