Spyglass, Need a little more info. Did/do you get your atomizers all at once or from the same supplier? Do you prime your attys with a little liquid? What are you using to fire them..ie passthrough, ego, etc? I had two bad attys both 510 from the same supplier and shipment and it happened the first time I used each one....supplier replaced both no problem (guess I wasn't the only one) haven't had a problem again. I'm using 6 attys on different devices without any problems and have used the same ones for over 2 months.
How many have you gone through?

I go through a Joy510 atomizer about once a week. What could I being doing wrong? If you overfill the cart, will that ruin the atomizer? Is there a definitive way to clean a 510 atomizer?

Thanks.

That is my average life span for LR 510's. Triple that for regular 510's.

I know what I do wrong. I take very long draws too often and too close together. I have no idea what you're doing wrong. Maybe letting it get too dry?

Too much juice just results in a flooded atty which means very little flavor and vapor, but the atty gets hot. Blowing it out corrects that.

There are ways to clean them. Check out the Tips thread. I have my method and others have theirs, I have not seen a definitive method that works for everyone perfectly.

Too much juice as Hoo said wont kill attys.

Too long of hits sometimes contributes.

Some attys are made better than others is another scenario.

Not enough juice can contribute to early death.

Too high of voltage will certainly lead to early death..

So if you vape on a 5v device instead of 3,7, it will shorten the lifespan?

Ive been rotating three different 510 attys for the past month and a half. One is a Joye from awesomevapor 510 starter kit, one is unbranded from americaneliquid 5-pack, and one is from my EastMall Riva starter kit.

I rinse em out and let em dry overnight every 2 weeks or so, but mostly i dry burn to clean them. They say its a technique one must learn and be careful with, but im dry burning my attys all the time and havent lost one. Im at 3.7V though, so theres less risk.

Weird thing with your situation is it doesnt sound like a lack of maintenance, they dont even last long enough for you to maintain!

I have no idea what the problem could be... sorry.

Alot is unfortunately the luck of the draw...I have attys for my Ego and 510 that are still working after two months....and of course others that just die after a week or even less...For me, just sticking to the basic seems to work the best....Blow out your atty at night...in the morning add a couple of drops before vaping....and Enjoy the Adventure...

Join the club. I don't know what I am doing wrong. They used to last me about 3 months, no more.

My atties tend to last anything between 1 month to 4 months. A too-dry atty will die a lot faster than one kept moist - some die for no reason at all - some don't like thick juice - some don't like dark juice - some don't like higher voltage vaping - some are just made badly.
I only buy the JOYE ones (from cignot) and I never clean any of them.
I drip, don't use filler in carts (or cartos although I have tried them) but otherwise take no 'special care' with them other than blowing them out.
The more info you can give us about your PV, your atties and how you use your atty (and what you use with it) will help to trouble shoot your issue :)

Sounds very much like what I do: blow them out about once or twice a day (or whenever they flood), add a drop in the morning. Only time I rinse or soak is to try and get rid of offensive juice...and that's only worked for me once. In all, 'less is more' has worked so far for me.

In 6 weeks, I've never had a 510 quit working (I use an eGo), but I've had to throw away one because of lingering taste.

All mine have been purchased from Vapor Kings.

Geez I've had pretty good luck with joye 510s. Well, I can't be TOTALLY sure that I have official joye products. I do know that I purchased quite a few during the "bad batch" scare. All of those are still alive and kickin. So that's what makes me think maybe I didn't get Joye attys then. As for cleaning- I just run mine under hot water with tweezers for 15 mins and blow all the water out during those 15 mins a few times. Then blow all the water out again, and let it sit in front of a blowdryer on "cool" setting for another 10 min. Good luck with everything.

Just using them with a battery, and sometimes a passthrough. Most of mine were manufactured by SLB, according to the website.

From my experience, the SLB's really HATE to be dry. They pop pretty easy if dry and I have never had one survive a dry burn attempt.

They are a little higher in resistance than a Joye, so I like them for fruit type flavors as they run a little cooler.

I don't do any of the cleaning techniques that recommend soaking. I merely rinse in hot tap water, then swirl in a cup, blow it out, rinse and swirl again, then use a balloon to give a long constant blow. after-wards, a couple dry burns then prime with 3 drops of plain (flavorless) water down VG (15-20% bottled water). my 510 attys are celebrating their 5 month longevity and my 510LRs 2 months. My 306 lr is 3 weeks old and still going strong.

thats why i switched to cartos.

i periodically try atomizers, just to see if i might like to switch back. but within a weeks time, they always taste like booty. with a carto, if it tastes bad after a couple days, so what? they're disposable.

Thanks.

Your not setting them up right at night. Dislocate the battery and atty. Set your atty in a shot glass at night, cart side down. It will allow the liquid to drain off the coil nightly. You hear a lot about keeping the COIL wet..thats not true. Coil should remain dry. The WICK is supposed to remain wet. The coil will gunk up if constantly wet, causing bad performance, and longer hits, which leads to failure....Just do the shot glass at night and your lifespan will triple overnight, mine did, as I had the same issue. 10 day average jumped to a month. :D
