I recently bought 2 DSE510 attys from valuevapor. Im not a fan of the joye510-LR attys but the DSE I recieved isn't perfect either. Pretty low on vapor and low on flavor (which I know is from low vapor). I was reading on the 510 reserection mod and SpcCwby mentioned removing the wick. Would this or something similar increase vapor production? What can I do to increase vapor? Oh btw I love dripping :D

The ohms on that atomizer are 3.0 or 3.4 or something like that. If you are using regular or mega 510 batteries, a 2.2 - 2.3 joye atomizer will produce more throat hit and vapor as they heat up the liquid much faster vs. an slb. Removing the wick will not help with vapor. You can drip less liquid if you remove the wick. 2 drops or else it leaks and floods. With the wick you can use 3 or 4. Only remove the wick if you are having problems with burning it, (bad burnt taste) as you will not be able to use it with a cartridge after that. Adding VG will give more vapor also.

You don’t mention actually doing or testing anything in your attys. You only said you were reading.
Have you tried the methods you read?
As mentioned before, liquid play a role and you should try/test before doing anything radical.
What I do when facing a “bad” atty: First, check the air flow. I’m a chain vaper, my attys get really hot and many times the plastic base melts closing the vent hole. When this happen, very little or no air getis into the atty making it work hotter and giving you bad taste and little vapor.
So, not mounted in the battery I compare the air flow with a new atty; clean the threads and the venting holes with a needle or paper clip; if it doesn’t work, then I use a small drill bit and make my way inside the atty thru the bottom hole. Be very careful and re-drill (by hand) the venting hole. Don’t go too far because you can damage the coil. Check again for air flow until it let air as your other attys.
Once the atty is physically correct, if not happy with performance, then you can check electrically if is defective checking on the ohms. I really don’t do it since I don’t even own a meter; but if you do, you should verify it and save time.
Ok, so if the atty is not working, I proceed with the cleaning, I mix various methods described around; first, heated crest pro-health, for 15 minutes and moving or shaking the atty several times; then I soak it for about 15 more minutes in vodka to remove crest’s flavor and last how tap water. Then blow the atty and proceed for a dry burn. Dry burn is “tricky” and can kill the atty; so be careful.
After the dry burn, check again air flow, because it can melt the venting hole…
If you succeed, your atty should work properly.

This may sounds like a lot of work, but it really takes about an effortlessly hour and just done when needed.

I normally use 3 or 4 attys with different juices and purposes (one for clear liquids, one for dark liquds and one two more for dripping clear/dark liquids).

In my experience (and several others around); dark liquids clog attys and left remains more often than clear liquids. So I frequently give a round of 50%PG/50%VG session to clean and kill flavor. This helps a little in longevity.
I hope this helps.

yes I will begin to try this but first testing with a meter (I dont have one on me, in storage of course :p ). I did compare atomizers btw, my fresh and new DSE510 vs "Yetti" atty from altsmoke. Altsmoke has about 2x as much vapor and I don't know why.

edit: oh so yes it's not the liquid, I know liquid makes a difference but not when one atty out-performs the other with the same liquid. Weird :/

Kinda answered your question above. Ohms make a big difference depending on the device you are using. Some attys just don't work that great even from the start.
Yetti attys are joye 510's.

Well I saw this thread and was intrigued since I just got an order of 6 atomizers from VV. I bought them because they were at a great price.

So I just pulled one out and blew out to get rid of any primer (didn't seem to be anything coming out or bubbling or anthing like that) Put a few drops of halo freedom on it and did some non inhaling puffs to clear any primer. Again, I had no off taste like primer burning. I put in some of my fresh peach from madvapes and voila! Great taste and mad vapor.

This is only one test of one atty, and I don't know how long it will last compared to others, but this one I tried seems great. I was going to test the resistance before I used it, but I forgot, even though my multimeter is sitting right here next to me.... Oh well, old age is a hard taskmaster..lol

Edit - I just checked the resistance on another one and got 3.1 ohms.
