so will regular 510 cartomizers work without the e tension piece since it the same lenght as a KR808 or will I need to buy the mega 510 cartomizers???

It's easier to sell something mass produced for $3 versus machine only 50 of them. Sell 50 pieces for $3 and you haven't even covered your development time. And if you gave this connector design to China and said make me 100 of them the cost would be high.
As an example, I just bought a tool called a Rodenator. It's basically a gas mixer. Mixes propane and oxygen together, injects it in a hole and has an ignitor on it. It blows up gopher tunnels. Maybe $100 worth of material in this thing. I paid $2000 for it. Why? Because they aren't going to sell millions of these things so their price has to cover all their costs yet still make a profit on a niche market product.
Very true Rob. You have personal example as I see. My personal example is that I asked China 6-7 months ago to make me a mouthpiece and they needed 3.000 dollars for a start without making anything for me just for the adjustment of their machines and the moulds.
I used to work in a plastic injection molding shop. Some of the simple molds cost $15,000-$25,000 just to machine them. That's before even running any plastic through 'em.
True. I worked in the metal fabrication industry and every time a customer wanted a new part made it cost a small fortune for new moulds, punches, dies and cnc programs to be made so anything under 10,000 cost a hell of a lot regardless of "material"cost involved in the item.
Molds here cost exactly the same and I was impressed when China told me only 3.000 euros. But even 3.000 euros is a big amount of money.

Still haven't got the new AVS upgrade for my GGTS, though.
I'm on the fence about upgrading or getting a new one.

Help me understand, my old friend. Why would you have to retire your GGTS? Does it no longer work? Will it not work as equally well as a new one after the upgrade?
Yes, the new version is lighter, shinier and won't tarnish as often. But that's just cosmetic. If you're satisfied with your old one, I can't think of a compelling reason for a new model other than just wanting one.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. If it's something like the new version won't need as much maintenance and cleaning to stay in vaping condition since it doesn't oxidize as much, that could be a valid reason to get one.
Mostly cuz of the price Clyde. For only a few bucks more than the upgrade it looks like I can get a new GG.
