Interesting. The first clearomizer I opened out of the 5-pack fit the eGo cone with ample room all around for air flow. The second clearomizer I opened won't allow either of my ego cones to slip past it at all. It has a much thicker outer diameter, although you wouldn't notice just by looking at it.

I wonder if they are including thicker walled tubes for those with trouble with cracking as thicker walled tubes should last longer. I find it hard to believe this is a manufacturing tolerance issue. If it was, some tubes would not fit on the base, etc.

Has any one noticed this before?

That is typical of quality control from Royal Smoker...the makers of the ce2. You never know what to expect out of them. Yes, they were suppose to make them with thicker tubes. I see that they are still trying to use up the older style thin tubes from what you posted. In any case, if you have any cracking going on with them, you can mod them with a BD 3ml syringe. Only BD brand works. Amazon is the cheapest but you have to buy a box of 100 syringes...will run about $25 shipped.

You can BD 3ml syringes from Walmart for 13 cents. No prescription needed.

In New York there is a prescription needed. I went there last night and they can only sell the small 1cc syringes OTC. The pharmacist said it needs a prescription because it isn't a size used for insulin.
