Has anyone used an adapter with the Gold V2 cartos? Any issues? I drip w/LR801 atties, but would like to give cartos a try. My husband and I really like Isaac's atties (LR801 for me/HV510 for dh) and after reading the reviews on the Gold line, I am anxious to try them.

I think I probably have an adapter, sometimes 2, every time I vape. The only probs I've had is when I overfill they set off my protection circuit and I have to blow out the excess juice. That only happens on one device but it has a very sensitive protection circuit on it. These cartos work fine with them as do all Ikenvape cartos. Except when, SEE MY LOWER POST #49

Chelseafn , did you try moving the center post out just a touch? I have to do that allot or it doesn't make contact. Don't turn it though or you will break the wire inside. Just pry it out a touch with a tiny screwdriver or knife.

Thanks, 5card, for the info. I have a mechanical PV, so I won't have to worry about any type of leakage messing it up. They are on their way to me (hopefully arriving tomorrow) and am looking forward to trying them out. Guess I should be looking at the many YouTube vids to figure out out to fill this bad boy. The last time I messed around w/anything similar, was in the summer of '09 and it was plain old carts w/PTB as filler. Talk about a PITA!

Indeed! Now it makes sense, Thanks Card.
There was a customer last night telling me about his carto that had failed. He did drop clues to what led up to the failure during the investigation. He said that they were sizzling, on 3.7V. Then showed me a photo with the shell removed and the fitting in an adapter that was still residing in the unit. "Ah Ha! The center pin is the culprit!"

You also have to be careful taking them off the adapter. On the adapters the center post in them have a small end and a large end. I have them with the center post installed both ways. If the small end of the center post is on the end you put the carto on sometimes the center post of the carto becomes attached to the center post of the adapter and when you go to remove the carto the center stays put ruining a good carto. I had it happen twice. I pulled the center post out of the adapter and installed it the other way to stop this from happening. If you don't overtighten them it also won't happen. Here are some bad photos of what I'm talking about.

Yes adapters are veeeeeeeeeery problematic. Through many discussions here it has shown as a culprit to many experienced problems. The first questions when troubleshooting a reliable known product should be which device are you using it on, and is it a native connection. I nearly had a thermal run away with LifePo4 batts, that was directly attributed to the adapter on my P18. I no longer have that problem nor worry about it because that particular adapter is pushing daisies in the local landfill :)

I ordered a sample quantity of the 510 drips and 808 megas from Ike on Wed. They came this morning. I was at my office waiting on my Provari. It didn't show. I was very disappointed until I filled up one of these 510's with my go to juice. This is a major upgrade from the Boges that I've been using - Not even in the same league. My juice tastes much, much better. The flavor seems to 'pop', and it's much warmer.

I'm not fond of the metal drip tip for now, as I typically hold my current PV (an eGo) in my mouth and chew on them while I'm typing or driving. Not happening with these unless I want to lose some teeth lol. OTOH, this will be less of an issue with a mod, as you prolly can't use it like that anyway. Does Ike offer these without the tip?

So Ike, you've made my weekend. Thanks man!

I did, for now. I was wondering if these were offered without the tip, as I'm sure it's adds considerable cost.

They were suppose to but there was a mix up at the manufacturer, so not sure if/when they will be but we got them at a discounted price because of it so likely didn't make that much difference. I figure I will give my extra drip tips away in PIF packages to new vapers.

It doesn't matter which unit I used it on, I use them on all my units because I use so many different carto threads. I just made sure when I use the Drip Tip 510 that #1 I don't over tighten and #2 the center post is installed the correct direction. On the small end it's shaped perfectly for grabbing the center of the 510 DT.
I should have tossed it like you did. I was just letting people know before someone ruined a cartomizer.

Soooo are these cartos meant for high voltage or something? They crush my batteries. I've got a Provari coming hopefully Monday, but right now I'm using 2 ego and 1 ego mega battery. The standard ego batteries last me about 3 hours with a standard Boge carto. They last about 30 minutes with this one. The Boges I have are around 3-3.2 ohm. This one measures about 2.6. Is there really that much difference?

note: i probably won't care once I get the provari. These draw extremely well, and my juice is much tastier....

Got my order today and almost threw away the box with the little extra 'E' shaped rubber band thing. I did a doubletake because I have a bunch of huge blue plastic paperclips on my desk like that. Anyhow I like it thanks!

I ordered an HV 901, a few mega 808 and Platinum V2 cartos, and 2 converters, but the bulk of my order was 23 of these Gold Drippers. So, I got 3 loose and 4 x5 boxed up. I kind of looked through all my stuff and followed the directions - 30 drops of an 80/20 pear-champagne DIY and happened to let it sit while I had dinner. I came back and went at it. Sound but no vapor. I'm like, "something is happening here for sure, but no vapor at all". Turns out after checking that I happened to pull out the only one that was produced with no air holes from one of the boxes. I swear I have crazy bad luck sometimes.

I filled a new one and gave it a go at 3.73V. These really are good even at this voltage, in fact now that I moved up to 4V it really isn't that much better. I'm getting good vapor production on par with the HV 306 (which I prefer at 4.6V for some reason). The throat hit is modestly better though. I've been giving it like 4-8 drops every once in a while blind (i.e. through the drip tip while tilted) and it is working great.

After one time doing this I popped the drip tip to examine it and topped up another 2 drops to where it looked perfectly saturated, but I don't think doing this is even necessary most of the time. This is the first 510 anything I've ever used and I started out on Boge 2 Ohm KR808 cartos. I had so many problems with those, like 30% DOA rate, having to pop them and top off very often and stuff. I actually had so many problems with those that when I first bought my kit I could never really get into vaping and went back to analogs for a month.

This is like the complete opposite of that. I don't think I've let them get near-dry, or else they just wick very well. I got a little liquid down the center on the first one, but I realized you just need to start slowing down in drops 20-30 and it is super easy. No messy carto-condom method or having to blow through or shake vigorously to get the juice to flow down. I haven't yet had a problem over-filling. Maybe it will happen, but I doubt it could be anything near the problems I had before.

I was nervous ordering this many of something I hadn't tried, because I did that with clearomizers and they were garbage. The clearomizers constantly had an off-taste no matter what I did. With the IKV, I've gotten accurate flavors and no sort of off taste at all so far. For people who love only bold flavors like Wyatt Earp and Atomic Cinnacide, maybe that doesn't matter to you, but I have several regular vapes that are delicate flavors and I need something that works like these Gold V2 do.

I'm afraid I've vaped myself into a touch of nic-overdose now, but I have nothing really negative to say about these so far. The manufacturing on the one is a fluke and just a fact of life. There's a bit of a sizzle sound that unnerves me, but I think this is just because I am so used to my de-wicked 306's. That's just a personal problem I guess haha... I think you really did a great job on these Isaac...

I've pretty much vaped myself into a frenzy since I got these, too. I can't believe the vapor production out of this little ego with these. These things get WARM - even with this little PV. I just switched over to a mega ego, we'll see how long it lasts..
