Hey guys.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what exactly a drip tip is please. And is it the same as the mouthpieces of a standard CE4/CE5 clearomiser? I'm wanting to customise my E-cig without changing too much, I want to buy a custom tip/mouth piece. I've found a few custom 'drip tips' and I was wondering if they screw in and can be used the same way as the mouth pieces.

Here is a link to the drip tips I've found:
Drip Tips & Adaptors

i hope I'm not being totally ignorant by asking this question :p

thanks!

Drip tips were originally used on attys for dripping, then as better mouthpieces for cartos. Some clearomizers allow for adapters to where you can change drip tip/mouthpieces. For the CE5, here one adapter:

And most 510 drip tips will fit with it but not all. Some drip tips at that same site that will likely work with their adapter:

Actually I'd appreciate more information on this too. The whole 'dripping' thing has me sort of confused.

PSA: The following is meant to be a quick reply and is not a full-coverage guide :)

The act of dripping is just a manual application of e-juice to the coil in an atomizer.

In simple terms, the coil is a short piece of wire, usually wrapped in the shape of a spring. This wire is attached to the battery. When you push the button, electricity flows through this wire and heats it up, creating the vapor we all know and love. If you look at a CE4, nova, or any other clearomizer, there is a wick that takes fluid from the tank to the coil. In a dripping setup, you do away with the tank and have only a short piece of wick in the coil. Instead of filling a tank with e-liquid, you place a few drops directly on the coil / wick.

Pros: You tend to get more / better flavor from dripping setups. Switching flavors is a much faster process. Dripping setups don't clog up as like clearos.

Cons: You have to keep dripping liquid on the coils; not good for long periods of hands-off vaping (ie, while driving or otherwise engaged). Dripping setups will likely leak if you lay them down while full of juice.

I tend to keep a few clearomizers around during the day, filled with a couple of different flavor. They're great for low mess, low hassle vaping. At home I use a couple of inexpensive dripping setups so that I can change flavors whenever the mood strikes.
