Shopgirl a HV atty on a USB Passthru wont work very well , most are designed for 6-7 volts so a 2 battery device ( 2 x 3.0 v , or 2 x 3.7v ) is where the become beneficial IMO .

Of course this is not cut and dry !! a little experimenting is in order

Benefit of a HV atty is the it makes the High Voltage devices more usable , they would POP a regular atty very easily , these HV ones have a higher resistance ( that lowers the power ) and stress on the atty.

Hope this helps ?

a word to the wise, i just learned my lesson today. people were telling me that standard 510 attys don't work too great with 5v's and up and i just received my xhaler from nhaler.com. btw nice prices and great shipping drew, came super fast :) anyway, people were telling me for 5v and up that i should use a high volt 510 atomizer. i was stubborn and bought a regular 510. it worked on the 6v for a while, it got very hot and i had to wait 30 seconds between each vape. after 1 hour of vaping it finally stopped working? I was wondering why my .... wasn't vaping. the atomizer fried because it wasn't meant for that high amount of voltage. to think for a dollar more i could of avoided this problem haha
