510 manual battery problem

Is the button sticking down? or has it been completely released and pops back up?
If the latter is the case, how long does it stay on after you take a drag?
If its only like 1 -2 secs I wouldnt worry, If its longer, try to contact the place you bought them, as they are defective. I wouldnt reccomend taking them apart to find out what the problem is, unless you are really good with electronics. batteries are only like $10 anyway.

I have seen this behavior before. There is no real "fix". If they are new batteries, contact your vendor for a replacement. If they are older batteries.. sadly... throw them out.
I'd only suggest that if the button was not coming right back up after you let go... But contact your vendor first before attempting anything. If they will ship you new ones, just go with that, if not. Then I guess that could be a last resort
Does the tip LED stay on also.... or do you just hear the atty "sizzling"?
If it is just the sizzling.. with no LED.. then the problem is not in the button. Spraying it with electrical contact cleaner won't help at all, and will probably kill the unit completely.
Now.. if the sizzling just lasts about a second.. there is no problem at all. It just takes that long for the atomizer element to cool back down. As a matter of fact, when my atomizers do that I'm quite happy. It means they are working correctly and the liquid delivery is just about perfect.
But.. if they continue to sizzle for more than a second or so (no LED).. then the driver circuit is "stuck". I've seen this happen on KR808D-1's and on a "clone" (non Joye) 510 battery. On the KR808D-1, it was terminal. On the Joye clone.. it did it once or twice, and then started behaving itself.

Sounds like physics to me. Electrical current in the atomizer causes it to heat up and vaporize the liquid. But this doesn't happen instantaneously. Heat takes time to build up and to dissipate. So that half-second to a second of sizzling you hear is the atomizer, still hot but cooling down, after you release the button.
Same problem here, it seems to only do it when the bat is FULLY charged, for the first draw
Maybe that is the case,if it's noisy I dont hear it.But when it's quiet I hear it sizzling and freak out right away,I'll have to listen and see if it quits after 2-3 secs.
I've never seen the problem with authentic Joye batts, so I'm going to assume that you have the SLB clone batteries. The LED is brighter on the clone batteries than the Joye batteries. Disconnect your atomizer, hold down the button on the battery for about 12 seconds. If the battery is a clone, The LED will start to flash after around 12 seconds, and you will notice that the batter has a 2nd LED.
If you have a clone, and the batteries you purchased were advertised as authentic Joye, contact your vendor for a replacement.

My wife just got a near-burn on her.. um.. er.... *chest* from her atomizer. She had her new L2 510 in her pajama top pocket and it was stuck on (LED off).
I really haven't seen this behavior with Joye 510 batteries (like Travis said), but now I've seen it first hand with her "clone".

I've got a couple of 510 attys that seem to sizzle after the button is released. Sounds like the same thing? Took me a minute to realize it was just because they were new attys... they quit doing it (I think I just kept a bit more juice dripped on the atty with each filling and it quit doing it... it was only when they were new).
Like I mentioned in a previous post.. I consider an atty that will sizzle for a little bit after you release the button to be a "good thing". That's what my 510 attys will do when they are working quite well.
Continuing to "sizzle" for many, many seconds.... that's a bad thing...
Me ... I'd contact the supplier & see what they have to say about it.
