I think you're lucky to get 4 hours. I can crash through a charge on mine in under 2 if I hit it a lot. But with the PCC it doesn't even matter. Battery seeming low? Grab a fresh one out of the case.

There's really no way to underestimate how cool this case is. The design is cool, the build is solid and it works like a charm. I did have to return one with weird battery issues, but now that I have a working one I'm never without it.

I still haven't used my PCC, since I havent needed a recharge. I only smoked a few analogs during the week b/c we were in in the process of cutting back to quit; but we sort of plateaued, which is why we got the e-cigs. Been on the same battery since we got it 2 days ago (only used it a few times though). The weekend will be the big test.

But the one thing I did notice is the PCC I received is already adapted for a manual battery. I heard about people having to mod it so the manual button would slide in.

Has anyone used this PCC with the manual batteries and if so are there any issues with the button when inserting it into the PCC to charge?
I have- there is a little slot in the insert hole to accommodate the switch- works perfect and has solved my only e cig dilemma. I love my PCC almost as much as my yenti. They are like peanut butter and jelly to one another....and I am the recipient of the delicious duo! LOL

I got one from Totally Wicked. After three days the weld? that holds the push-latch? onto the case broke. I didn't want to wait for a replacement from them, things like that seem to be more hassle than its worth, so i did a quick repair on it using a rivet.
Now i did this like really quick, so its not a pretty picture, but if these PCC's hold up over time, i will get another and do a better repair, like color-cordinating the rivet and smoothing it out. I also bent my case in the process, so the lid doesn't line up properly either, but it still works.
Also the hinge pin itself just fell right out when the case was open on it's side, amazingly i didn't lose my spring for the lid, so be vigilant when you have your lids open as that the tension of the spring holds the hinge pin in place, and when the lid is open there is hardly any tension on the spring then.
This is a great concept though, but a little better quality would be a big plus!

Anyone know of any good vendors for the PCC besides Widow? I really wanted a blue case, and she doesn't seem to have it in stock.

Also wated to get a passthrough and usb charger for my 510 manual, so would be handy if the vendor also sold these.

Thanks

Check out AltSmoke, thats where I got my Blue case. Rob is awesome.

Is the PCC safe to plug into the computer? It's not like the passthrough that might burn up the computer?

Ummm....This is the first I've heard of this. Is there something I should know? (As I vape on my passthrough that came in the mail today, thats hooked into a new laptop)????????8-o

Is it safe to leave a battery in the PCC after it fully charges? I like the idea of being able to use it as a case but I was wondering if I had to worry about overcharging.

I recall a thread where someone said they thought it might drain the PCC battery to leave a battery charging in it. My batteries aren't long enough to activate the charger so I have to use a piece of sticky foam in the lid to get it to charge. So, when my battery finishes charging, I just move the sticky foam to the other end o the lid and keep my battery in place.

Exactly. It won't damage the battery to keep it in the case for a few hours after it's fully charged, like when you're away from home but don't need to swap batteries just yet. But the case will keep sending a charge to the battery (just like a wall charger does) after it's fully charged and that causes the case itself to slowly discharge. It's best to remove the battery from the case when it's finished with the charging cycle (remember, it takes two hours to reach a full, 100% charge, even though the light turns green after one hour) but it's not necessary if you're just storing an extra one in there for a few hours while you're on the road or whatever.

Thanks Surf Monkey. I've been disengaging the battery when the light turns green not realizing they need a full two hours.

Yeah, that's just how Li-Ion batteries are. That last ten to twenty percent takes a lot longer to achieve, and most charging circuits aren't sensitive enough to show when the bat is actually at 100%. iPods and iPhones use Li-Ion batteries too, and even the charge monitors on those don't show the last 10% or so. They also continue to charge for about an hour after the cycle shows as complete on their meters.

Thorough review, very well done.

I have a couple tangential questions: do the 501 and 306 in use the same connector and voltage? I've gotten the impression that the 501 and 306/306a batteries are more or less interchangable from various posts on these forums, much like the Janty Dura-C and Mini Fogger can use the same charger. Has anyone used this case for charging a 306 battery? (It would probably require some sort of spacer attached to the lid to accommodate the spring.)
