510 self clean mode

I've heard your 510 will go into a cleaning mode after something like 1500 drags. I would guess this is to heat and clean the atomizer? I don't see how the battery itself would need to be cleaned being that it's sealed.

I've read that during the cleaning process the battery will heat up. I'm a little concerned that this may burn out the atomizer.

Anyone know what it does exactly and if you're supposed to detach the atty?

No, don't detach the atty. The battery fires up to heat the atty and burn off accumulated liquid in the atty. The atty doesn't get that hot and really, you can do a better burn by using the manual button.

You're right, batt is not cleaning itself.

I've only seen this happen with my automatic battery. Does it happen with manuals too?

Wait, I take that back. I don't know for sure. Just read the manual and it didn't say anything at all. I can't remember if my 510 manual went through the cleaning cycle or if I was thinking of the 901...

i never had the dura or 510 doing a cleaning cycle.
even my auto batts never did it until now.

btw, its really stupid to let the battery decide to da acleaning cycle. most people change atomizers multiple times a day.

if it were users choice to initiate the cleaning it would be ok. but this way is really stupid.

Yeah I've never read about self cleaning in the 510 manuals, and it wasn't in the instructions. This is the first time I've heard about this. The atty heats up with the battery but only during heavy use. The battery is a manual, you can suck on it until it melts. Does anyone else know about this self cleaning thing?

there is absolutely no cleaning cycle on the manual batteries. in the auto's the light will stay on for like 20 seconds so you'll know it
