I bought this 510 T a few days ago and last night I started having leaking issues. I changed the cartridge this morning, but then it leaked again. I mean not from the mouth either I mean I was getting liquid on my hands. It leaked again and I was suspicious it was the atty so I tried changing that. It leaked again later while I was in the car. Is there something I might be doing or not doing?
Btw the reason I am so concerned is that I have three dogs and I am scared it might get on my hands or the arm of the couch when I am not paying attention and that I might accidentaly touch one of my dogs. I am also fearful the sweet smell of the juice might attract them and they may lick my hands or the cig while I am not paying attention. Does anyone else have dogs? I try to thoroughly wash my hands and wipe the cig so that no liquid gets absorbed by me or transferred to my dogs. Is there anything I can be doing to further protect them? How worried do I need to be? I fill the cartridges in a blocked off room to.

That's the outdated "tank" (cartridge+ atomizer) system. Most, if not all, move up to cartos, clearos or tanks. As for the dogs and safety just wash your hands with soap. Once you get a delivery system that doesn't leak you won't have this issue. As far as I'm concerned Vendors should not be selling the cartridge+ atty systems but it's a cheap way to sell starter kits IMO.

I don't have a leaking issue but since I have cats, if my PV is not on my person I keep it in my bedside drawer, along with my juice. I do this because one of my cats is particularly devious and will a) chew on anything shiny and b) open any cabinet. She hasn't figured out drawers yet :) I also wash my hands in super hot water after filling my tank and only fill my tank over the sink.

I have one and when my friends who are not vapers draw super hard on it they leak all over, but in general they kind of always did leak a little bit out of where it connects with the atomizer I would just wipe it off with my shirt all the time. If this is your one then on these 510t's you can just barely draw on it and it will vape long slow draw.

What are cartos exactly? Are they kind of like a tank and an atomizer in one? What about clearomizers?

It's an atomizer and a cartridge in one. Tank systems are the same thing, but they encompass a carto with juice that feeds into tiny holes in the bottom.

I prefer them over atomizers. The only leaking you'll ever have with non-tank cartos is during filling (if you flood them).

Cartomizer/ Carto- one piece metal tube with stuffing and element inside. Holds anywhere from 1- 4 ml of juice. Carto is fully saturated and must be occasionally refilled when juice runs out. My Cartos last 1-2 weeks. Best Cartomizer I’ve found is the Smok Tech XL 1.7 single coil. Boge 2.0 ohm cartos will give a cooler vape. Always use single coil cartos with 3.3- 3.7 PVs for the best vape.

Clearomizer/ Tank (includes the Stardust and the Vivi Nova)- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable clearos come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My Vivi Nova heads are lasting about 4 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw.

Tank systems can leak on occasion. There are a couple of things to help this situation. Firstly, eLiquid with a higher VG content is thicker and less likely to leak. Secondly, when a tank is full it requires more inhaling pressure (a slightly harder draw) to get the liquid on to the atomizer and on the flip side when a tank is becoming low you should inhale slowly as less pressure is required and a hard draw can then cause too much liquid to enter the atomizer. Clearomizers don't really have this problem, so probably a good idea to get some of these for using at home.

I have now ordered a stardust from Got Vapes :)

I have three dogs too and have not had any issues with them trying to get any of my ecigs or liquid and have a lot of it around since both I and my wife vape. But you know your dogs better and if the chew you will want to keep an eye on them.

As for your atty leaking all over your hands...you are probably taking too hard of a draw on your ecig. There is a learning curve and it will come to you, but I found a thread on the forum that talked about the proper way to take a drag on an ecig. You don't want to use it like an analog because it will cause those types of issues. Take a very slow long drag (about 4-8 seconds) and only put enough pressure on the intake to put a slightly negative pressure on the intake and let your atty do the work it was intended to which is burn the liquid and vaporize it. It will come to you and the air passing through the system will not keep the atty from getting as hot as it should.

Or go to the tank clearomisers or cartomiser systems and it will be less, but if you drag too hard on those it will happen too, just not as bad.

Knonic, thank you for the advice! I will definately try that! I think that's definately what I am doing, I just tried what you said and I noticed I can also taste it better and I am getting a thicker hit of vape.
My dogs don't really chew much. Save for paper like kleenex or paper towels. I am more worried about it getting on my hands and transferring it to them unintentionally.

There's also another issue with juice leaking on to the batt in case anyone else reads this post. With auto batteries juice can damage them quickly unless they're sealed batts. Manual batts are less prone to damage from leaking juice but still not 100% completely protected from leaking juice.

One more thing I forgot to say is that I leave mine upright because if I leave mine on the side for a long time they will leak that way too. I'm not saying like when your vaping you can put it down on your desk on the side but over night or many days you wana leave it upright. Especially re-using the tanks a lot of times will make the hole bigger and they will leak easier.
