My battery charger can't seem to keep up with me anymore... it was good for about a week, but now I'll constantly have a dead battery before the other one's ready to go. Anyone else having this problem? I suppose I could buy more batteries and have a couple charging at a time, but that would take a few days to start doing, as I'd have to wait for them to get here... also, is it a bad idea to leave the battery in the charger even after its full, like say overnight?

This is why I don't use my 510 any more. It was OK at first but it got to the point where the battery was not lasting even a half hour and I only had 3. Mine were about 3 months old when they started dying faster and faster. There is no way around it except to have more than one charger going at the same time and there is no problem leaving it on the charger.

Well I have to admit, I've only tried the 510 so far, but so far I've been enjoying it a lot. I've been lookin around the forums and found a few others talkin about the same problem with battery life though... but what is this mod you speak of? If there's a thread about it, maybe you can point me in the right direction? Haven't found it yet.

I kind of got the same problem. Sometimes I'll charge and they last for hours and then other times not for 30 minutes.

RW, is building the mods these day---mine works but come out messy.
Anyway, we are waiting for the batteries for the mods and the charger. Ordered the wrong ones the first time so RW is building a passthrough to use them. I so want to get away from factory batteries as much as I can.

I can't post links yet but I think they are referring to the thread in battery mods under Modder's forum. It's the last sticky How to: Build a Nikostick.

As the man said, 510 bats suck. :)

If you want to build the box, search for the Nicostick.

But I bought a passthrough so that I can vape directly from a computer USB port and out of my car 12v outlet without batteries.

When I am out and about, I use an adapter that allows me to use the bigger 801 bats. The adapter comes from altsmoke and that fixed my problem.

If you're going through them that fast you might try upping the nic content of your juice. Most people around here can get by on one 510 kit with 2 batts.

But instead of changing models and losing the benefits of the 510, I'd get more batteries and specifically the mega batts from Totally Wicked.

5pack:
510 TITAN Electronic Cigarette-Mega Power 5 Manual Battery Multi Packs.
single:
510 TITAN Electronic Cigarette-Mega Power Manual Batteries

Also while the circuits on the ecig batt and the charger have 'stops' on when the battery is fully charged, if both of those would fail you could have a problem - and while I think that may be over anxious on batts, I still remove all from there chargers before going to bed, although during the day some are in way past going green.

But the 'tech' on long battery life is to frequently recharge before going dead. So, as trog pointed out in one post, if the charger goes green, even though you may not have run out on the one your using, change batteries. And put the not fully discharged one in the charger. I know that isn't your problem but just so you know for longer battery life.

See:
Charging lithium-ion batteries
Do and don't battery table

"Do charge the battery often. The battery lasts longer with partial rather than full discharges."

I also recommend the 510 Titan Mega Batts. Depending on your vaping, you should get about 4 hours. I get about 6, but then I try to conserve when on batt. A 510 passthrough is also recommended, not just so you can vape batt-free on a computer, but if you unplug it the battery in the PT box is I think 320 mAh, which is way more than even the mega batts. Several here just carry their PT around with them for this reason. A PCC charging case is also a good idea with the 510, although I'm using mine less since I got megas.

4 hours?!? Ick. Why would you want to limit yourself to 4 hours, when a device like the Little Chuck will last a full day, and a Chuck can last up to 4 days?
