I read on here somewhere that 901 whistle tips fit on the 510, and that they are better than 510 flat tips.

Do all 901 carts or 'whistle tips' fit a 510?

I just want to make sure before I order some, cuz I don't own a 901.

Thanks

There are one type that are a too big. I got them from freshsmoking. Not sure who makes them. But the ones from dietsmokes, widowbeadworks, heaven gifts are what I consider the 'good' ones - that are 0 shaped rather than D shaped. Eastmall had the D style. They fit snug but except for the ones above, they fit. I made the one's from freshsmoking fit with and exacto knife.

I have a bunch of 901 carts. Some of them fit my 901 and some don't. I honestly cannot tell you which ones are from where but the majority of the ones I did buy were bought from Heaven Gifts. Some of the 901 carts will be a tight fit but will loosen up with time as you take them off and put them back on over and over. Oh yeah, mine are all the D shaped ones if that makes a difference.

Now that I know the correct way to line up the 510 carts I actually prefer the round 510 carts. They just seem more comfortable to me.

Thanks for the info guy and gal. I have 3 brand new unfilled 510 carts that are the round style. If anybody is interested in trading for some 901 whistle tips, please PM me. Otherwise I will just buy my own. Empty carts are cheap so maybe I'll buy both types of 510 and 901 to use on my 510 and try them both.

Interesting how there are different styles of carts that different companies sell.

What I want to know about the 'D style' carts is that it looks like vapor will only go through one side with only one side opening. But maybe it holds more juice...IDK...I don't own one. The round tips have two openings (one on either side) to allow vapor to flow through. Anybody notice any vapor difference with the D style carts?

I can't say I've noticed any performance difference with the carts. I find suction isn't an issue with the 510 because your not trying to keep the switch activated. You're really just moving air about 2 inches.

The D shaped carts feel funny and their a pain to keep aligned. But because they aren't as deep it does keep the juice closer to the atty. And since I top off with a few drops the juice doesn't get "lost" as easily. But they don't feel right.

The fatter 901 carts are about the same basic design as the 510 but not round. I've been using one for the past few days and I do like the feel of the glossy hard plastic. I'm going to say I think they hold maybe a little less than a 510 cart. But it does tend to just feel right.

510 carts have this matted feel to them. I prefer the slicker glossy finish. Love that they're round so no alignment needed. And if you're a cart filler you're good to go.

Face it, the 510 is an awesome machine. Carts don't play enough of a part to make a significant difference either way.

If I had to pick just one cart it would be the 510. Plenty of room for juice, conveniently round, and they look right on the unit. Second would be the fatter 901. Like the feel, plenty of space for juice, and for some reason I don't mind the alignment issue.

The only problems I've seen with fitting is the D carts, but not all. I've had 510's that seem too loose. I've been reusing some carts for up to 5 months so just find the ones you like, but don't put too much stock it in.

A clean fresh atomizer plays a larger role in my opinion.

Actually there are a few different styles of D carts too or... they simply changed some things. The original D carts flat tips I got from Eastmall had an end insert in the mouthpiece that came out rather easily - I had three come out in my mouth. And there was a thread here on someone almost choking... the thread deteriorated but it is in fact the case that they weren't my favorite for that reason and a few others. They were also thinner - which some people liked, not I. And the filler was glued to the floor of the cartridge chamber, which you had to pull apart when you washed the filler - and in a few cases that pulling would dislodge the floor from it's inset and then it was loose. You could put it back into place but sometimes there was still movement and also then juice could leak through to the actual air chamber.

As far as the airflow goes - even though it was one sided, it was a bit bigger than one of the two sided channels - that the actual area was I don't know but I think it resulted in more juice area and the airflow didn't seem to be affected.

Now one set of D styles I have are good - the end mouth piece is the same, it isn't thin, and the filler isn't glued and I'm not sure where I got it from :) But I still prefer the '0' style - thick and good for holding in one's teeth, esp. if you have a 510 auto batt. And the end piece on the mouthpiece is solid on all of mine although there have been reports of that one coming off too but I think the person said they were a 'biter'...

I don't notice any vapor difference between the 0 and the D but I do notice a flavor difference between the round and the flat tip for me anyway. The flat tip give me a better seal and a better draw and more flavor.
