I'm considering purchasing the innokin MVP2 and I am confused about the eGo vs 510 connection. If I use a clearomizer such as the Aspire Vivi Nova, I don't need a beauty ring, correct? But if I use a clearomizer such as the Aspire K1, I do need a beauty ring? Thank you for your time.

The beauty ring is not necessary when using either on the MVP. It would IMO improve the aesthetics to use one with the Vivi Nova since it has the 510 connection. The K1 will sit flush.

One big reason to use a beauty ring - either the one it comes with or another style for a different look - is to run it up to the base of the topper (if 510 connection) for stability. Not just for looks. Necessary? No. But a good way to protect the threads and help keep the topper from working loose.

Ego batteries (just like your MVP2) are dual threaded--the inside thread is the 510 connection, the outside the eGo. Any topper that is either 510 or eGo-threaded will fit.
The beauty ring covers the eGo (outside) threads and supports larger 510 threaded tanks.
