5V pass thru question

nah no FTW.... it was supposed to be temporary 2 and a half years ago... but it still runs good and coolish.... hoping my 3.2 GHZ Q6600 lasts quite a bit longer as Id hate to have to shell out for new equipment at this point. hmmmm how would I know if any of my 5V USB's are 2 amps or not?

@Morandir835: I did not know that about the evga mobos. I assume by front side, you mean the internal headers that normally get hooked to the case's front ports?

So.... 2.0 amp or better AC USB adapter. The higher, the better, particularly with DCs. USB is a 5 v standard. It's the amps that count
here.

That's 2.0 amp. Find 3.0 or better somewhere if you want DCs (assuming the PT will support it) IDK why anyone wants DCs at 5 volt since it is basically like vaping two 3.0 ohm atties at 5 volts... one is plenty for me. But that's me. You need 5 v to make em work well, or so I hear.

Are you sure you are not incorrect about this? My Dual Coil box says each coil is rated at 1.5 ohms so combined is like 3.0. So, using a dual coil would be like running one 3.0 not two. My DC's work just fine with the 5v passthrough, same performance as one regular 3.0 atty on 5v.

Two 3.0 ohm resistors in parallel = 1.5 ohms net resistance. The DC's are advertised around 1.5ish ohms so it must be two 3.0 ish ohm coils.

Demon72 sir, owned that board back in the day, the most any of the front side usb ports will put out is 1.5a, two of the ones in the back put out 900ma. If you were to run the pt you'd need to use a atty or carto rated for 3.4ohm or above.
