The government is a business, plain and simple. They can't help but look at ecigs as a profit center, and the easiest way for them to capitalize is to claim the need to regulate for our safety. I mean c'mon, they only have our best interest at heart, right?

Im glad they are looking out for my best interest Id hate to think what it would be like if they were a bunch of self serving, war mongering, lieing thieving, politicians. Then wed really be in trouble!

Not a business, they use laws and guns to enforce their wants and needs. Business' have to provide goods and services that people want or need and will pay for.

I'd like to see the questions used in this poll, the sample base used, and I'd like to see more polling done to support this position. While I would sincerely love to believe these results, I believe it's too soon to bank on public opinion until the subject has been more thoroughly polled and analyzed.

In any case, these poll results are good news, and at the very least, a step in the right direction. Hopefully it will spark more positive conversation in the media.

I personally take exception to questions 13-21, as I see those questions as leading and have no idea what type of consensus data they were trying to collect with those. However, the rest of the questions appear to be very generic (which I like), the demographics in he sample are close to the most recent U.S. census data, and the methodology described is sound. Of course, I'm not a statistician, so this is only my opinion.

I love Reason. :)

I do too. Most of the articles I've read on Reason are just.... Reasonable! :)

Any time I see a ecig story on my homepage time line I check it out and usually post. Typically there are tons of testimonials and positive support with the occasional busy bodies repeating the usual arguments.

I think we've actually made a lot of progress in changing opinion and getting through to people that even though they keep saying they're unproven and unsafe, that they're at the very least safer than analogs based on so many user stories about their improved health and ability to quit when before they had failed. I mean, Rachel Ray did a segment on her show about them, and she actually said "if you're gonna puff on a bunch of chemicals why not just have the cigarettes" Seriously?
