I want to try 6v vaping with a low resistance dual coil carto. I heard it makes for a great vape. What are the best batteries to use. I see COV has ICR 123a 3v batteries. Would that be a good option?

I have to admit, it's a nice vape..

But, I would be remiss if I don't say this..

6v at 15 ohms is going to generate 24 watts. Spread across coils, very nice.. But it's a huge hit on the batteries.

Quote from an EE mentor..

"Just remember, you're ultimately asking a *lot* from your batteries.. Lots of amps.. Not that its going to be a explody problem, if you're using good, (and protected, I hope?) batts, but it may enter in to how many charge/discharge cycles you get out of the batts before they give up"

You'll need multiple sets as well. I needing to replace every three hours or so.

Yup they draw a lot of amps from the batteries so they will drain quickly...

lifepo4's are among the safest batts.. regardless of whether you use dual coils, triple coils, or 1.5, they are 500mah (even when stacked)

maybe buy 2 to try it out.. and then purchase more if you like it. personally 6v is my go-to. but i use 3.0 atties from Cisco

Yep..

Good batteries, and keep the hand off the bottom vent, JIC.

I've got some 3.0 ohm Duals ordered and currently dripping a 3.5 atty.. I don't want to worry about the batteries.

Yes they are great. If I may suggest - while your at it pickup some 1.5 triple coil cartos. IMO they are even better - seem to taste better and are a bit smoother. Only thing, they don't work at 3.7 like the DC's do. So you will need to use them at 6V only. With either @ 6V - flavor, hit and vapor is much better depending on your juice. YMMV
