There is No difference between how nic salt and freebase are handled by your vaporizer.
NONE. The special coil heads for "salt nic" are a crock in many cases. For example when the whatever pod came out by aspire and it had a "nic salt capable coil." I think they were fixed wattages which like so I asked Aspire Tina how the "nic salt" coil worked (it was a nautilus) and she said it had "half the air/flow holes in it"
To me that would exponentially increase the likelihood of the coil burning out faster, so I was colored "not impressed."
PLEASE people, nic salts are NOT made of moonbeams and sunshine they are NOT going to kill your equipment, require special equipment no matter HOW the universe markets nic salts or like, strange claims made.
If you tailor your nic to your devices capabilities it will function like ANY other vaporizer.
If you want/need/must do wacky stuff like vape 50 mg/ml nic salts YES the lack of throat hit MAY allow you to do so, but for the love of god use a MTL coil and LOWER wattage.
That is all you need to know/figure out with nic salts the right mg/ml FOR YOUR DEVICE they are otherwise largely irrelevant otherwise and they are NOT MAGIC I'm sorry unicorns are not going to fly out of your vape.
They are also NOT going to bust your equipment. I SHOULD KNOW. I am a specialist in busting equipment in creative ways for many years now and NEVER ONCE was it connected to nic salts. I also vaped them exclusively for a year or so because my throat was tore up (at normal levels like 18 mg/ml because my respiratory system was all messed up. When I switched to freebase, NO DIFFERENCE. Other than throat hit,)
I am sorry to rain on your parade but....
