I have had my 5 volt GLV for a week and a half and only used it for less then two days.I popped 2 new attys within minutes.I've used an old week atty that lasted a day or so then popped about 10 more old attys within half a day.

So whats going on I asked.I pulled out my volt meter and tested fully charged batterys and bam 8.5 volts. Now I now this is'nt under a load but its not hard to understand the attys cant handle this much.

Is this normal for the 5v GLV or am I doing something wrong?

nope thats right 8.2-8.5 volts on a full charge. the resistor knocks down a 1 1/2 volts and the atty does about the same. It only works when you have an atty on tho

I killed a bunch of attys when I first got my GLV as well. These attys were from cignot and I suspect I just got a bad batch. I've now been using the same atty for around two weeks in the GLV and it's still going strong! Just make damn sure you keep that atty wet at all times, if you detect ANY dry flavor at all, fill up that cart. ;)
