I know that it is recommended to charge new batteries for 8 hours, use it for a while, and then charge again for an hour. I am curious about what this accomplishes. Don't get me wrong I am not saying it isn't what should be done just don't know why. I will say that I never did this on any batteries but that was because I never read the instructions and just jumped in. I seem to get the average battery time of about 1hr per 100mah. My question specifically is; if the charger stops charging when the green light comes on how would the battery be conditioned with the extra time? Is doing this supposed to give longer battery life between charges or longer overall battery life?
