Hi guys got a quick question about e-liquid, I'm a newbie at this so any help would be much appreciated!

I use a Aspire K1 e-cigarette with 1.6 ohm coils and usually buy over the counter liquids from the supermarket, although I decided to branch out and experience different flavours and mixes. I bought 80/20 mix but unsure if it'll work through my coils?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks :)

it should work, the difference will be in some parameters, for PG based ejuices:

Thinner Consistency: Due to the fact that propylene glycol has a runny consistency, PG e-liquid is thinner than the VG variety, and is easily absorbed by the polyfill and cotton fabric inside cartomizers and wick tanks.

Less Gunk: The low density of the juice also means that gunk doesn’t build up on the heating element of your vaporizer as fast as it does when thicker vegetable glycerin liquid is used.

Does not affect flavor: Propylene glycol is a tasteless odorless substance, so it doesn’t alter the flavor of the e-liquid in any way.

Stronger throat hit: It’s also a powerful humectant, so while it will dry your mouth and throat if used consistently, PG also produces a stronger throat hit, similar to that of tobacco cigarettes.

Allergy Risk: On the down side, propylene glycol has been known to cause allergic reactions in some e-cig users. These can vary from minor reactions, like a tingling sensation in the throat, to serious irritations on various parts of the body. If you experience any unusual symptoms after vaping PG e-liquid, it’s best to stop using it immediately and switch to vegetable glycerin. Consult your doctor if necessary. (c)

    Welcome to the ECF community.
If the juice doesn't wick well you can add a few drops of distilled water to it. Not tap or bottled water, use distilled water.

When you say 80/20 juice I immediately think 80pg/20vg. from your comments I know that's not what you are vaping. The general format for a mix is PG first, then VG. If you don't list it that way, it's customary to add the letters to note that it's vg first then pg, so that readers won't assume that it's PG/VG.

Just the opposite here, think vg 1st in my head unless I'm familiar with the poster.

I guess it's variable according to mix preferences, but when someone says they vape 70/30 mix I always think 70pg. Somewhere here on ECF Oliver blogged about it and suggested that we stick to the PG/VG order to prevent confusion. I can't find it right now, but ran across it a week or so ago. I'll have to bookmark it next time I see it!

Seems it used to be vg/pg but now more commonly vg/pg. either way, I assume the higher one is the vg if it’s not stated.

Edit: meant to say it used to be VG/pg, now it seems it’s usually PG/vg.

Okay I read that three times, hopefully I got it straight now lol.

    I'm kinda with you Both.

Because to me, since Day 1, the PG has always come 1st.

But with Newer Vapers, who haven't been around as long, they tend to put the VG 1st.
