I am gonna post this question in a new thread. I have 3 atomizers and they don't seem to accept carts. If I use a new cart, within a few minutes I get a horrible taste because its running hot. If I pull the carts they seem to have been compacted. I saw another post which said to cut off the top part of the wick to keep it from compacting, but same problem. I cannot get the atomizers to stay moist from the carts. I tried two different generic carts and njoy carts. Any Ideas?

This atomizer I have now has been in use for a few weeks now, so it is pretty broken in. I have been keeping the carts topped off. It's weird, the way the carts work is so simplistic, it should work or not. Gotta be something in the way these atomizers are designed. But I know other people with these and they don't seem to have a problem.

What the OP describes seems normal. First, the atomizer bridge is supposed to compress against the cartridge filler. That is how the e-liquid wicks out of the cartridge and into the metal mesh material surrounding the atomizer heating coil. Second, my experience with penstyle devices is that they do need to be topped off frequently. If you vape fairly heavily over a three to five minute period of time, you will need to top off. Lastly, the burning taste is a real good clue that it is time to top off your cart. Do bring the filler level with the cartridge end after topping off to insure good contact with the atomizer bridge upon cart reinsertion.
