Hi

I'm quite new to the vaping scene and i just want to confirm if the 801's and 901's are prone to leaking?
I've read in some forums that the 801's are great atty's however they are prone to leaking is that true? or is it just the adapter? can i use empire drip shields on 801's? regular and mini's? thanks!!

PS
When will Ikenvape resume service? Does anyone have a link to the new site?

801s are bigger diameter than 510/901 atomizers so no go on the drip shield, they are great for IKV 901s though:) I have gone through a couple of IKV 1.8 801s and I could usually drop 6-7 drops easy with no leaking, but I don't know about other vendors 801s. No clue when they or reopening or if there is a new web address.

Yessir, what he said, yessir! :) may I be so bold to add liquid viscosity. Albeit PG is good for cartos, VG is a must for atties.

I didn't know you feel that way now. I remember back in the day we believed that atties are more prone to leaking with VG juices because they don't wick as quickly so people are adding more juice thinking that they need to while in reality they end up flooding the atty. Also the whole higher sugar concentration being bad for the coil...

What have you discovered? I'm curious... Thanks.

I have discovered nothing :)

100% PG = bad, 100% VG = equally as bad.

MY 100% VG = good :) Why because it is diluted! Where it represents roughly a 70/30 mix which is what I used before. 80/20 for cartos.

Sugar concentrations don't come from the VG itself. That being said nto all the liquid in VG mixes volatilizes. The sugars from the liquid that remain behind in the spent liquid will become caramel after a period that is why when atty starts to taste foul, blow it out. I don't clean and I don't dry burn.

Wrt atties leaking more with VG, well yes, if you over drip and do not understand the delta between vaping PG and VG. It took me 2 months to master VG. Now it is water under the bridge :)

I love my Ike 801s as well. Never had a leaking problem either. I vape various ratios of pg/vg juices up to 100% vg. I vape HV, only drip and haven't had any problem with carmelizing... So far!

I really loved Ike's 801 HV semi sized atty. I'm on a one man campaign to have him bring them back at 4.5 ohm. I wonder if Ike is having prolonged server problems hoping I forget my campaign? LOL

The semi is the best of all worlds for the 801s.

I haven't gotten around to trying an 801. The standard 901s are prone to leaking. If you use a less expensive 901 like I do on VV, you really do need a drip shield. It's possible to make an IKV 901 leak but, you have to work at it. Occasionally when my battery is going, I'll not realize that's what's going on a do it. That's about the only time.

Well if you're harassing him half as much as I am about it, he'll have to give in soon.:vapor:

I hope he makes them 4.5ers

He did in the 510s so I expect he will the 801s. Since he has gone back to his original mfr I don't see why not. It was the latest mfr that was giving him all the grief.

I've used 801s on and off for a long time, and probably I'm 801 challenged but I've always had leaking problems with all variety of juices, even after reading a lot of advice on the matter. Guess that's why I'm primarily a carto guy, but hey, I still use 801s and sill love them so maybe someday I'll magically figure it out.

The 801s are crazy hogs. Put 10 drops in one and you get 2 hits. Yes, I'm exaggerating a little, but just a little. These things use juice like a V12 uses gas.

Personally, I like the 901 better, but that may just be because I haven't broken in the 801 properly yet and the 901 rocks so much. I'm getting great lung hit and flavor from it.

801's ARE joose hogs. They create outright ridiculous amounts of vapor even with small drags though. The 901 requires much less joose. You get less vapor than an 801, but the flavor is unsurpassed.
