808 clear dc cartos help, please

I bought some 808 clear dual coil cartos at the retail store on Saturday. Tried one on my 808 batts and vgo batts and it's like sucking play-dough thru a sippy straw. My sister reports same problem with the ones I gave her. What could I be doing wrong?

Update: my sister says they work much better on her vgos and box mod w/adapter...just not on skinny batts. Will try again!

ETA: Success on the box mod! Happiness!
