Hello everyone!

New vaper here and I'm thoroughly confused now.

I ordered a kit for hubby and I, 808, that we have been using for a few days now. I find that the battery life is not near what I expected. Even after charging two batteries over night, I've had to change them both out already after only being awake 6 hours.

Since finding ECF, I've been doing a lot of reading on different types of products out there and would like some other opinions, in dumbed down terms for me. LOL

I enjoy the fact that the 808 is thin and not too bulky, but I just can't seem to ever get a decent hit off of the poor thing. I've got a 5 second cut off, which really just makes me ill. I feel like I'm wasting my breath.

I have liquids coming in to start refilling carto's, but now I'm quite curious about these tanks I've been reading about. What is the difference besides looks?

Thanks in advance!

HI :) Bear with me, as I feel bullet point make things easier to read :)

• Do you have the automatic batteries (no button to push), because those restrict function quite a bit. Most of us don't like them, partially because of the limited cut off time. Next time try the manual batteries. In addition to that, you must be very careful because if you get any liquid into them they will fail because the battery inside is not sealed off. With manual batteries, the battery part is sealed off, so if some liquid leaks out of your cart/carto/whatever you can just wipe it off and keep going. This makes manuals more versatile in the different ways you can use them too.

• Here's a lesson about mah: every battery has a mah rating, the smaller the battery the less mah it has. The 510 is 180mah, the 808d-1 is 280mah, the eGo is 650mah (but you can buy it in 1000mah), some of the giant flashlight looking mod e-cigs are 18650mah or more. For every 100mah, you can expect to get about 1 hour of use. This is why most of us prefer the bigger battery e-cigs, it's not because we like a manly e-cig, it's for battery life. It's not a flaw in the design of e-cigs, it's just physics.

• The other thing you want to know about any e-cig you buy is volts. The more volts, the harder hitting, hotter the favor, more the throat hit. Most e-cigs are rated at about 3.2v-3.7v. The big flashlight looking ones can be rated at 5v, 6v.... Not the eGo, it's about 3.2v-3.7v like yours probably is. One way you can get a harder hit is be using a Low Resistance Atomizer -- this will mimic the harder hit that you get from a higher voltage e-cig, but you really should only use them on a battery that's greater than 650mah because they drain the batteries pretty good.

So to recap, you can think of the mah as the size of the gas tank and the volts as the number of cylinders in your car. A 6 cylinder engine will work harder but burn more gas than a 4 cylinder, right? So a 5v will work harder and burn more battery.

• automatic batteries = less control, shorter cut off
• automatic batteries = must not drip or leak liquid, less versatile
• manual batteries = more control, longer drags
• higher mah = longer battery life
• the smaller the battery, the less mah
• the bigger the battery, the more mah
• higher voltage = harder hitting
• LR atty = mimics a higher voltage
• LR atty = drains the battery

Good Luck! :)

The "808" designation is more related to the threads on the battery: the atomizer connection, then it is related to the entire PV itself. If you have a KR808 you need to buy 808 batteries and attys, or buy an adapter for your batteries.

Batteries are rated in Mah. The larger the Mah, the longer the battery will last. There is a direct correlation between battery size and its life. You wont find a battery that is supper small that will last for 2 days, its just beyond current battery technology. If you want more life, your unit will get larger.

I know there are TONS of bigger battery mods for 510 threaded PVs. Like the Ego, and Riva. You can get all the way from 650mah too 1300 mah Egos now. Remember that people re-brand these PVs and call them something else. What is important is the thread: aka: 510, or 808, 901, or proprietary.

Yah, 5 second cut off is extremely lame. Many vendors will give you good specs on their units, and allow you to make better informed decisions. If they don't list Mah, cut off times, or thread size: just go someplace else.

The tanks are 510 thread. They were made for Egos, but you can put them on any PV with a 510 extension. I personally hate them as they were a HUGE drop if flavor from the cartos I normally use. I've tried too many types of attys/cartos to ever be happy with the tank system as its reduced performance.

almost forgot the tanks:

The tank system is in infancy, there are tons and tons of great reviews but also quite a few bad ones. They are definitely worth trying out but they are just not everyone's cup of tea.

My review would be this:

• easiest system out there, as far as ease of use, less refilling, easy refilling, long lasting.
• goodish vapor production
• reduced flavor - not good! :(
• convenience - A+
• despite what some say, it's NOT equivalent to dripping.
• overall - it's not enough for me, I need more flavor, more vapor, more, more, more...

That is a fantastic way to look at it, thank you!

We have two manuals and two autos, but strangely mine have the cut off (m and a) where neither of his do... So.. I've been using his batteries. *innocent look*

It sounds like the EGO would be the way to go, especially with the 1kmah. I have a passthru ordered for work since I sit at a comp all day, but when I'm at home, I don't want to be tethered to my laptop.

Do all EGO's come with this tank thing I've been seeing??

Tanks come with eGo-t models only or can be ordered separately and will fit a normal eGo.

No, that's just the new eGo-T.

If you are going to get an eGo I do recommend that you get the following:

• standard eGo starter kit (or eGo starter with the 1000mah batts if you like)
• eGo-T atomizer + eGo-T cart/tanks as an add-on to your order
• one drip tip
• 2 boxes of Boge 510 cartomizers (prefilled or blank)

With this set up you can try vaping the following methods of vaping:

• drip tip
• cartridges
• cartomizers
• tank system

If you just get the eGo-T kit you can only try the tank system. If you end up loving it, that's great, but if you don't end up loving it you need to order alternate parts so you can try out different vaping methods. Also, it's extremely convenient to have a standard 510 atomizer (like you'd get with the standard eGo kit) because it makes it so easy to try new flavors -- just drip a couple of drops into the atomizer and vape. If you get the tank kit, you have to fill a tank with the new flavor in order to simply taste it, then if you don't like it you'll have to empty and wash that tank -- kind of a PITA if you want to sample your 12 new flavors.
