I know I'm not alone, and I know this is probably just a statement of our common sentiment, but I just can't stand reading about regulations and the commonly spewed misinformation about e-cigs. I get so angry, and depressed having read one of those stupid articles, or after reading about impending regulations being proposed by our various government entities. People are just so, well, ignorant. Or greedy. Or just plain stupid. I can't believe that the thing that may very well have saved my life, and thousands of other lives, is threatened by the disingenuous intentions of people in power. I just had to say this out loud, and I wish that I didn't have to hear about this crap on a daily basis. Instead, I wish that I could read sensible reports in mass media of people changing their lives by using our invaluable smoking alternative. Reading this forum and the e-cig subreddit dissuades the ennui to an extent, but for heaven's sake people (those on the outside, non vapers) wake up!

I have had alarmist comments from legitimate scientists here at work, guys with real credentials and decades of research behind them. They spout the typical media disinformation about PVs, exploding batteries, anti-freeze, flavors to attract children, nicotine causes cancer, etc. ...

These lies have taken on a life of their own, and will be nearly impossible to reverse ... :(

Honestly, if all OUR tobacco companies didn't band with FDA and the medical field to purposely pack cigs full of nasty additives, perhaps they wouldn't face a fierce growing competition that utilizes all modern forms of advertizement and spread.

US is perhaps the only country where lots of products are made purposely to harm the population in the long run, but hide the fact through lots of propaganda.

You know it irritates me, modern slick marketing geared towards kids, were in an age where 70 year old men and women enjoy ipads etc, explain how thats advertised towards children. They say sex advertised to the younger generation? Locally an ad for a gentlemans.club plays frequently yet I dont hear about 13 year olds going.there... its a mass misdirection, try to frighten the parents into siding with big brother

This stuff never ends. I'm also part of the off-road 4x4 and gun owner communities. Now I decided to quit smoking and use vaping to subside my smoking urge. They are attacking more and more of our freedoms. I suppose eventually it will be illegal to have a booger hanging from your nose since it will offend people. This group of politicians is the same bunch that has gone after the 4x4 and Gun owners also. I think they are all :censored: psychopaths with an agenda. They should be removed from office.

The claims against ecigs are all just blankies to toss over the simple fact that the government is unsure how to fully regulate and profit from ecigs since new companys, stores, vapors seem to crop up daily.
It would be nice if that's really all it was.
But it's so much more than that.

So much more...

It's a story about corporate greed, and zealotry, and mind control by the mass media.
It's a story about hate, ignorance, jealousy, and money.

When what it really should be, quite simply, is a story of saving lives.

It just depresses me. I just can't even read them anymore. I mean, I do read them, but I try not to. And then I just feel bad. I know it's all about money, one way or the other. I just can't believe that people are the way they are sometimes. Common decency, and logical determination be damned.
I stopped reading them well over a year ago.

It doesn't get easier...
You don't get used to it...

You just keep getting more and more angry.

yet if you put your head in the sand, don't stay informed, and do nothing about it, you will be be stuck with what ever "they" decide to do. We must all read, respond, and take action when necessary....or we deserve everything they do.

I do what I do, and responding to articles I can no longer tolerate reading is not one of them.
I'll leave that to the newer folks who haven't yet developed an ulcer.

Other than that, I agree with you.
And I can only hope that more and more vapers will step up.

God knows I've been trying for years to get them to do so.

The subforums convering them here are good. That's where I go. I read the posts of those who read the article to get an idea and then read it or not depending on whether its a pack of lies. Lies upset me. So... I stay informed, I just don't go in-depth if its going to be upsetting. I do the same with the news. I know there's murder, rape, theft, corruption, greed, lying, etc. Its been here since the beginning. That's not going to change. I've already learned about it and don't need to fill my head with it every day. Serenity matters to my quality of life. I Twitter the Action Plan 5 days a week to do my part and subscribe to CASAA but reading the repetitive lies is just not for me.
